So my cat, Whiskers, has escaped outside a few times and comes back battered an bruised. He is my little trooper and I end up having to care for his wounds, this time I guess I overlooked a gapping hole in the left hind leg! I looked at it and put some nontoxic antibacterial spray on it. But I am still worried, hopefully I can take him to the vet tomorrow.

He as also been having few troubles urinating, and that is the deepest concern of mine, I can only pray that they can take care of that too.

The best thing to do is see what the vet says. Poor thing must be in pain!

Is he neutered?

If he escapes and comes back injured regularly, he must not be neutered.

Unneutered males are who fight, and they can cause unbelievable damage to your cat.

Sooner or later he will encounter tougher older males who will do a whole lot more than cause an abcess.

They are also the main contributors of fiv and felv, so if you love your boy, do him and your finances a big favor and get him fixed asap.

Yes it does sound like he has an abcess, but correct about his lack of peeing, this is a BIG deal, and requires antibiotics asap to fix.

I suggest adding additional water source to his diet, canned food is a great help for this when fed at least one meal a day, since it is made up of about 80% water.
