My cat is 14 now and recently diagnosed with hyperthyroid ,she is taking medication for that. What wary me is a small growth next to her front tooth. It is red and small size . Vet said it needs to be checked for possible cancer . I pray that is not a cancer. Have any of you had such issue with your cat? how did it turn out? Let me know !

Welcome to TCS!  I'm sorry it's under these conditions.  I don't have any words of experience, but hope it goes well for your girl.

Is the Vet checking it?  Are you waiting for a biopsy?  Seems to me there have been a couple of cats who've had mouth cancer, but right next to their front teeth doesn't ring any bells.  More in their jaws.

Well, unfortunately, when the cancer is in the jaw, it is inoperable, so eventually when the tumor grew too large  the cats became uncomfortable,   At that point they were released from their discomfort
.  I wish I could tell you something else, but those are the facts. Let's just hope what your little one has is something else
, OR at the very least, very slow growing.

We discovered a ugly sore in my 14-year old boy's mouth last December.  It was malignant melanoma.  I think maybe your vet could just aspirate it instead of biopsy?  That was they could look at the cells on a slide. My advice would be to ask about aspirating it.   My boy is still with us, but has had 4 major surgeries, chemo, radiation and about to start chemo again.  He is doing well, but I wish I would have caught it earlier.  Good luck.
