My two cats only eat wet food.  I am going away for a night and would like to entice them with dry food for the one night I'm gone (wet food left out may spoil).  Is there any dry food that is especially appealing to your cat?  I'm thinking of trying Wellness Core Air Dried since it's "moist" and may be more like their usual wet food.

I know that wet food is better for them, but this is just for those nights away.  I'm more worried about my male, he is picky, my female is more likely to eat anything.  Thank you for any advice/input.

How about getting some little sample bags from the pet store? Sometimes they'll charge you a couple of dollars for them, or give them to you free if you're buying something else. It's a great way to see how your cat responds to that particular kibble without having to fork out for a big bag that won't get eaten. Plus you don't want a lot anyway if you're only feeding it when you go away.
Are you able to maybe get someone to drop by and give them some wet food?

The samples is a good idea, I will check with my pet store.  Unfortunately I don't have anyone I trust to feed them while I'm away; family and good friends live far away.  Thank you.

Actually canned food can be left out for up to a day. A programmable timed feeder, with or without ice pack, works great for this purpose. The PetSafe 5 compartment feeder works well. Catmate is another brand of feeder. You would probably need two feeders so the cats both have access to food. Adding water to the canned food or freezing the food into cubes and putting the frozen cubes into the feeder will help keep the food from spoiling.

Ask the vet techs who work at your vet's office. Many pet sit on the side or are willing to do for the extra money. If you will only be away for one night, a vet tech can easily drop by after work to check in on the cats and provide food. They may even drop in the next morning to check on things.

Great ideas. I would have never thought of freezing cubes. Thank you!
