You can tell by grabbing a bit of the scruff at the neck, and when you release it, if it slowly goes back then kitty is dehydrated. If it snaps back quickly, kitty is hydrated :)

I should add that if your cat eats mainly wet food, they may not require to drink additional water. I feed wet food, with added water, so my cat rarely drinks from her water bowl.

HOw is her urine output? That is an indicator too. A healthy cat should produce at least one clump a day. Mine routinely leaves two giant clumps, and he very rarely drinks from his cup. I feed him wet only since he seems to really like it.

I do feed her a can of wet a day (1/2 in the am 1/2 in the pm) and I only got it yesterday but there is little clumps. However my roommates cat likes to use her littler box as well sometimes so its hard to tell.

Her neck seems to be snapping back though. I feel like cats are smart enough not too dehydrate themselves if water is avaible. I just love my cat and get worried lol

Awwh you're a worried cat Mama! I'm the same way. If you're worried about it, you can add water to the canned food, just for good measure!

My cat pees, anywhere from 2-5 times a day, depending, and she never drinks from her water bowl.
