Hi all... I'm new and I have a question as I am not sure what to do with my cat. Roar is an inside outside cat and this morning he wasn't his usual, which is attack every thing. I thought this a bit odd. But once I came home from work and he still wasn't moving as fast as normal. So I went to pick him up to get him inside and he meowed and hissed at me and so I was trying to check him out and he won't let me touch his side by his leg. Almost on his belly. Immediately I thought someone did something. But now that I think more I was playing with him last night, he was chasing a lazor pointer and was pretty intense with it and even panting. But anyways do you think that maybe he just pulled a muscle and should I not worry? I plan on keeping him inside for a few days to keep an eye on him but just wanted to see what you all thought. Thank you in advance. Oh he is 9months old only.

Hi @tgeld  If he has outdoor access it's possible he has been more seriously hurt. A pulled muscle can be painful, but if he hisses when you touch him it sounds like it's something worse than that. Can you get him to a vet? If he's been hit by a car he'll have internal injuries. It's better to get these things seen to right away. The longer you leave it the more expensive it will be to treat and the more likely it is that he'll have permanent damage.

Good luck, I hope he's going to be OK.

So far he is moving around well. Did his normal thing this morning and is eating and drinking well. I do notice now he has a scratch on the side that hurts. I am thinking now he got in a fight. Ill have to wait until my husband gets home to look him over. Maybe so antibiotics will help him out.

Outside cats have very short lives due to all the hazards. I hope your baby is alright, fixed, and hopefully brought inside to protect him from danger.
