I have a little kitten named Tom cat and I just recently noticed he has a couple of bald spots on the back of his neck. At first I had thought that it was perhaps from my dogs but after looking at the spots there are no markings or discoloration. I'm not sure what is causing the hair loss and I'm not sure if I should be worried

Looks like some caused by flea bites maybe?

Ok so I should probably take him to the vet in the morning then?

I would say that or an allergy- yes being that young and losing hair would call for a vet appointment. I don't think that's normal.

It's not an emergency, but he should be seen by a vet.

- Did he recently get a spot on anti flea medication on his neck?

- Is he scratching the area?

- When you got him, was this present? If not when did it occur?

- What contact has he had with other cats?

No, no, it just happened today, and the only other cat is his sister which I just noticed she too has a bald spot but it's not nearly as big.

I just left the vet with both of them and for now I am treating them with medicated wipes on the areas where the hair is missing. The vet thinks it could be ring worm and that my female Daisy could have had the original lesion on her leg because she is already being treated for a sore she has on her right back leg.

Ring worm is definitely contagious, but it can be treated. I'm glad it's not more serious!
