It's great that you're caring for this kitten and have taken him to the vet. Has the kitten been de-wormed? Is he still having any diarrhea? It's important to give him kitten chow, which is rich in protein, and also wet food. Kittens eat every few hours, so leave some kitten chow out 24/7. It's a very good sign that he has a good appetite and energy level. Five week old kittens are very small, so don't worry about that--he'll catch up in time.  I suggest that if you continue to have concerns and questions that you call your vet and ask him/her. Since the vet has seen the kitty twice, s/he should be able to give you some answers. Keep up the good work.

When he begins eating wet food and kitten chow on his own he will grow faster, but since he is healthy, just give him time to get there on his own schedule. He had a rough start in life so he's still catching up. He sounds like he's doing well and that you have done a super job raising him so far! He's a cutie! :)

WHICH formula do you use?

What is a   Threw a sarenge?

Do you weigh him every day?  Its wise to do it, to know and follow better how he is going... Its easiest done on an electronical scale measuring in grammes.   There are cheap such, or you can perhaps borrow one from some neigbhour?

I would suggest you to try with Raw goat milk, good and nourishing.  Bottled goat milk is OK too, but raw is best, and has some extra advantages.

Our  USA forumists tells it can be bought in "Natural food" groceries.  There are several chains where you can find it, so apparently its not that difficult if you know where to seek.

Also, some good probiotic cant hurt, esp if he continues to have diarrhea or other similiar problems.  BeneBac is one of the best, but there are surely others too...

Re such "miniature" cats.   With a little luck, he will live on and prosper, especielly when he gets such a good care as he does from you.

But its not unusual they do crash and go down often in hours...   So hope for the best, but if he dies from you, dont be too despairing.

Good luck!

I believe the poster meant "through a syringe."

I had a siamese rescue who was 6 weeks old and about that same size. He had tape worms. Once he got medicine for that he began to thrive. He is now 15 years old. Since your kitty is active and eating well he will likely be fine, but if he doesn't gain weight in the next few weeks call your vet- he may need a de-wormer. I wouldn't give him goat's milk without checking with the vet because some cats are lactose intolerant and get diarrhea from milk. The formula should have the nutrients he needs if its for kittens.
