For those of you who live in the South or Southeast U.S., you should be aware of the Lone Star Tick which comes from the bobcat or mountain lion. After the tick feeds on the bobcat or mountain lion, it transfers to other hosts but only deadly to the domestic cat. All cat owners and vets should know about this horrible virus. I have already lost two cats and am currently doctoring my third one as a result of this illness. Cat owners think that their cat is just 'under the weather.' Please don't take any chances even after the first day of lethargy, not eating or drinking. Blood work will show this deadly cell. Progressive treatment (only 60% effective) is the drug used in humans to treat malaria and an antibiotic. These two combined has proven to work, but only if caught very early in the stages. Please don't put off taking your cat to the vet if you see any of these signs. Trust me, my next cat, if I choose to take a chance on yet another one, will stay indoors--never outdoors!

Thank you so much! Good news. My Oliver cat is now on a pill every three days for enhancing appetite and for depression. When I got home from the vet, to my (and his) amazement, he ate some tuna and a few Temptations snacks. I think he is on the home run. Thanks for all your prayers! Oliver really need them.
