I am a 14 year old animal rescuer who needs some help finding special needs fosters. I feed 20 feral cats and have had them spayed/neutered. I live in a neighbor full of cats and I am constantly spending money on my own dime without the help of my parents. Thanks to my rescue and mentor I've been able to keep going.

Recently I pulled a super sweet 4 yr old tabby off the streets. He's super friendly and loves to have his belly rubbed. Unfortunately he tested positive for FIV. My parents hate cats but have settled to let me foster two at a time. If I foster this cat my parents would murder me!!( not literally!) It was just my luck when I got a tip about a super sweet, gorgeous brown/black tabby being fed by an apartment complex on a busy street. They refused to get her vetted but the business located behind the complex where the cat slept allowed us to to take her and give her a shot at a better life. She has tested positive for FLV and is in desperate need of a special needs foster. She was from and feral colony and so was the male.

If we can't find them fosters they will end up in the colonies which is not an ideal environment for these very sickly cats! I live in New Jersey in Somerset county. If anyone could foster even if it's temporarily it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi,

I'm not in the Us so I can't help you, but I just wanted to say thank you for all you're doing for these cats. It's great to hear about someone so selfless and considerate, especially at such a young age.

I hope you find someone who'll foster these two cats for you. I used to have an FIV positive cat and he was so sweet, never any trouble to take care of until he was near the end of his days and needed extra love and attention.

Have you though about putting notices up in vets waiting rooms? Maybe someone who already has an FIV or FLV cat would consider a companion for their pet.

Good luck, please keep us posted.

:yeah: that goes for me too. It's wonderful to see someone so young getting involved at this level. Keep doing what you're doing. You're making those cats' lives so much better.

:cross: that you can find a home for these boys. I grew up with FIV cats. They were never any extra work until the disease progressed. They had some of the sweetest natures too.

Mega :vibes: that the right person/people come forward soon.

For someone to care so much about homeless cats at your age is truly amazing. It is for anyone at any age really but when it's a teeneger it's extra special. Your parents should be very proud. They are raising a very wise, compassionate and generous person.

I'm in Florida so I'm afraid I can't do much either. I think that @Norachan  has a great idea. Local vets would know someone who already has an FIV or FLV cat and might ask them if they'd be willing to help.

I hope you are able to find someone to take these cats. Vibes to them and hugs to you for caring.

The world would be a better place if more people cared like you do.
