One of my colleagues is moving out of state and I'd like to get her a going away present. She's recently had a baby so I'm thinking something along that line. I'd also prefer something not so conspicuous (so no baby cribs or giant teddy bears
). Any good gift ideas I can use?

Every parent of small children needs a Dust Buster. And wine.  I'm not sure what a co-worker would think of getting a dust buster though.  So maybe a bottle of wine? Or a gift card to a restaurant thats in her new location?  That would be helpful to have when you are settling in, need groceries and are likely too tired to want to cook.

Charm bracelet or living locket with a baby theme? (Sorry...jewellery is always my go to gift as I have boxes full of the stuff I've made :lol3: ). A suncatcher could be nice - a baby would probably love watching the rainbows they throw on the walls.

How about something to treat her and give her a break from baby? Like a spa certificate for a massage or a mani/pedi?

So what did you decide to go with?
I pooled money with two other people and let the third person pick something out for her.
Person #3 is a part-time artist, so the gift was a coffee maker and the words "Best Mom", very prettily decorated, painted on its side.

:lol3: I don't drink it much now (can't stomach very much of it anymore), but I swear that I lived on the stuff when I was younger!

Nice gift!

Great plan
I bet she loved it. Coffee is always necessary
I must be the only one who doesn't drink coffee.
Yes, I think that's true.

No coffee here either, only iced tea in summer or hot chocolate in winter.

How about a nice wooden chopping block and pretty kitchen towels? I think they might come in handy. I prefer to not receive a giftcard unless its specifically for the cats, as I think its a gift that is chosen when one gives up and couldn't figure out what to get.
