Hi there

We adopted a 6year old Persian cat, hes had the past week to slowly settle in, and has been doing so really well; I took him to the vet on Tuesday, and had him checked out, she informed me he has a eye infection; he was very aggressive in the vet, she told me he had not been handled in the past/ taught to submit when younger, and this could pose a problem when it comes to his grooming, I told her it was a problem; I had attempted to clean his eyes twice, but I failed; and chalked it down to the new environment, and he must be under alot of stress.

My partner was not available for the last two days so I was unable to try cleaning his eyes once again; however, we have tried tonight and failed miserably. We not even able to clean the residue from his face, and eyes, never mind hold him still to put his eyedrops in. ( I held him just like the vet showed me, but he ended up so distressed and left both me and my partner with a few scratches .hes been with us a little over a week now, and after todays failed attempts I doubt he will come closer to us.

I am very concerned and need to figure out a way to clean his eyes, and apply his drops with as little stress for him as possible. Please help! I would really appreciate to hear from anyone who has Persians/ anyone dealt with similar situations.

Many thanks

Rescue Remedy given prior might calm her down enough and here is a short video on how to towel wrap your cat which works well.
