I have two key rings. One has keys to the house, car, garage and mailbox. I generally only have it with me when I use a handbag. The other has a house key and one for work.

I have 2 rings also.

First, is 2 house keys to the front door, my car starter key, and a key to a safe.

Second ring, has an extra house key for the dead bolt, my office key, a couple of keys to lock boxes at work (petty cash, etc.), one for the locks for my luggage and another I'm not sure of.  Probably, an extra key to the front door also.

So that makes it...12 keys total

EDIT: I just remembered one of the extra keys is actually the back sliding door key.  Can't believe I forgot that - it's the door I use most :p

Just three, house, car and mail keys.  I do have a couple of other keychains with copies of these keys plus a back door key added to these extras.

I have 3 - front door, back door, back gate. No car key - I never learned how to drive (I was offered driving lessons or a horse - the horse won...especially as I'd already fallen for him). I'd probably be a danger to other motorists if I tried to learn now :lol3:

That would have been an interesting question a few years ago: one key ring with keys for:  house front door, house back door, car, garage, office, office desk, office cupboard, suitcase (for business trips), partner's flat and a few other keys I'd forgotten what for but still took them about with me.

Since I've retired, changed the locks, and my partner stays permanently, I only need to carry 2 keys. One for the car and the second fits the front door, back door, cellar and garden shed. How's that for simplifying my life!

Let's see: One car key, two house keys, one mailbox key, one laundry room key, two workplace keys, one bicycle lock key (which doesn't work anymore). 8 total.

One house key and one bicycle lock key. I don't drive either, I used to have a motorbike but I never learnt how to drive a car.

(Can't believe that @Columbine  got offered a horse if she didn't take driving lessons. Lucky so-and-so. All I got was a "After what you've done to that motorbike I don't think so young lady!")

Norachan Norachan It was an odd situation. A friend af mine had her horse drop dead under her while competing at a hunter trial (heart murmur). She bought Danny on the rebound, so to speak. She quickly became scared of him (just off the tracks racer). I was riding him for prospective buyers for her. I was talking about driving lessons and my parents said I could have Danny instead if I wanted...

Truck key, front door, shed, back door, safe, FIL's house and one that I have no idea what it's for. It belonged to DH and he kept keys for everything. There are rings that have keys on them in his armoire that probably date back to the 1980's. Who knows what any of them are for. He had a motorcycle in the early 90's that was stolen. I know the keys to that are in there somewhere. I keep them in there because I know that as soon as I throw them out, I will find something that needs a key and they will be gone.

5: key to my unit door, key to storage room, key to my storage unit, mailbox key, key to my parents' house. Plus two key fobs (I guess you could call them wireless keys), one to get into my building and one to get into the building next door for the fitness center and function room.
