Hi! Im new here (sorta) i check here every couple days but i just joined. Anywayyy...

So i have 2 cats (kinda). Theres two stray cats that live on my porch. Porch kitty #1 who we've named Loki showed up a little over 4 years ago. He's a boy. We started feeding him and he never left. He sleeps on the porch and comes around for food and to nap. Sometime he disappears for a couple days but he always comes back. We've trapped him a couple times and taken him to the vet to get vaccinated at least once a year, one time where he was coughing a lot (he got meds that we slipped in the food) and one time when he showed up bleeding from a huge bite on his tail (his fur never fully grew back so hes got a funny tail.) We dont let him in the house because everyone is allergic but me and we have a dog.

Porch kitty #2 is a girl and shes new. She showed up about 2 months ago. She is the smallest thing so we call her mini. She tends to stay as far away from loki as possible but she rarely leaves our porch now. We've only caught her once, last week, and we took her to the vet the same day, our vet is the nicest and she understands our lack of appointments. Turns out mini is about 10 months old and very pregnant. Now my question is what should we do? Should we try to keep her in our house in the basement until she has her kittens and theyre weaned? We would try to socialize the kittens and find them homes? Should we let her be? Shes not very social, shell allow the occasional petting session but those are short lived and end with some hissing, so im thinking trapping her and locking her in our basement might be too stressful.

Any advice would be super helpful :)

Is Loki neutered?  If not, please do.   :)

Re Mini, if you DO have the option of having her in the basement, for delivery, fostering etc -  THIS is the choice nr 1!   Everyting else is just emergency exit alternatives.

Plan on this.   Especielly as Mini is apparently NOT best friend with Loki, so this will help much in easing her mind, and accepting being closed inside.

She knows she is high preg, and she knows she needs help.  As soon she recognizes its help she and her children are getting, she will graciously copy with it.

It would be true for a catched semiferale, its surely more than true with Mini, who DID chose your place and your help.

Tx for caring!

Good luck!
