My kitten that is 2 weeks and 5 days old has been bit or stung by something, I'm not for sure how much bendaryl I can give it or just what I can do about.
What do you mean by bitten or stung? This young of a kitten will need a vet visit. I want to ask, is one of his paws swollen very much? Right now, please don't give him anything medicated, no bendaryl or anything, he is far too young without a vet's consent/knowledge. @RayvenStar101 Also could you post a picture, it may help. Have you fed him/cared for him or is he with his mother? Indoor or outdoor?
I can't take them to the vet, my grandparents don't like doing that because of the cost. I did call and explain my situation, they said it was most likely a wasp sting, but if it gets worse than to take him to an emergency vet clinic in the city. The vet said 0.2 mils of Benadryl is the best thing until we know if it gets worse. My cats are outside cats, but at this current moment he's inside. I have gave him some Benadryl, he's sleeping right now. I can only see one hole in the bite, that's why I believe he got stung. His mom is outside with her other two.
Oh, okay. It is good they gave proper dosage, I was worried for being such a wee one, its not possible unless you're well-versed in medicine to do so safely. Since he is still very young, you'll need to feed him from a bottle or syringe, especially since he is not with his mother, by any chance is his mother and siblings tame enough to be brought indoors or is that not an option? KMR is good for milk replacement, also I heard goat milk that is raw is good, but I suppose canned would also work. I've not ever used it but several members here have recommended it. You'll also need to simulate the little one to potty by rubbing its private parts with a warm wet wash cloth.
Oh, wow, is it an enclosed porch and can nothing get in the cage? I don't know if raccoons are a problem in your area but they can open latches and that sort of thing. Do you have a shed or garage to put her in? Better yet, since she is already medicated, could you give her back to the mother?
He's back with his mom now. He's drinking fine. We don't have much problem with raccoons, our dogs are very protective of our kittens and chickens, we have had stray cats attack our cats and the dogs will chase the strays off. My grandpa's dog, Snowball is overly protective of kittens, if something was to threaten or harm them I have no doubt he'd kill it. One time the mother was going to the restroom, and the kittens were calling for her, Snowball sat guard until Canary returned to her babies. He sat right in front of the cage. The cage is a hamster cage.
