I recently adopted a cat (1.5y) a month ago. Her play behavior kinda confused me. She is not interested in light kind of toys. For example, laser, ball with lights. she doesn't self entertain with the toy laying down there. She loves feathered toy but she would get bored around a week. Currently she is addicted to a robotic bug toy which runs around and she plays under supervision. She is not sound stimulated. Can anybody help me?

I guess I'm having trouble understanding your question. Does your cat seem unhappy or scared of any of her toys? Or is she destroying furniture or something? Maybe she's just not that playful a cat. My cats like their fishing pole toy the best. They also enjoy their climbing structure toy. Does your cat have anything to climb on? My cats also love any kind of cardboard box, and playing with plastic milk container rings or bottle caps.

Sorry about the confusion >< I was posting this while in a dog shelter. When she first came into our house, she went around and explore. The first 2 hours she was hiding. After that she came out and starting interacting with us. We Feliway-ed our 3 days prior her arrival making sure the scent is there. On her second day, she started to climb the mesh on the window. When it comes to the light kind of toys, she just looked at it. Pupils didn't dilated. She just sit there and watch. It's been a month and she have not destroy any furniture or marked around the house other than she mauled 1 feathered toy because I was dumb enough to left it with her without any supervision. We have a few cat condos around the house and near the windows for her to look out at the scenery. I bought a pet bed for her but she prefer the cardboard box.  My cat does not like toilet roll even I roll around infront of her for 10 min. She does not like balls too. What she is only fond with is her feathered toy, but she got bored with it and her robotic bug which she destroyed the legs of it already.

She sounds like a pretty normal cat to me. If she isn't acting sick or upset or scared, I wouldn't worry about what she plays with as long as it's safe for cats. Every cat has a distinct and different personality, and some cats take longer to adjust to a new home than others. Just keep trying to play with her and pat her.

When she first came , she displayed play aggression and I came out with a Programme for her to release that pent up energy. Her play time is twice a day , 10-15min each session. Play first before I feed her. Clicker training and taught her how to sit , wait and stay.

Slowly her pent up energy went down and she wasn't that active as before.
