i have been reading conflicting info on this, obviously handling needs to be kept to a minimum but is it ok to weigh the kittens etc when born.... All nice advice welcomed [emoji]128521[/emoji][emoji]128576[/emoji]

You should handle the kittens as much as you can, and that will help them be well socialized.  When they are totally newborn, just touching them, stroking them, getting them used to your smell mixed with their mama's smell is best since they dont need to be picked up other than to be weighed, but it's fine if you are a gentle and not clumsy adult to pick them up as often as you like.  I would not let children handle them yet but if they are gentle they can pet them also.  It's really funny to have newborn toothless kittens hiss at you because you smell like a stranger, but that stage doesn't last long, and soon they recognize your smell as just part of the family.  Their eyes don't open until they are about 10 days old and by then they willl not fear your huge human self because they will already be familiar with your scent and loving touch.  Go ahead and love up those babies!!
