I have a kitten right now (13 weeks) and am wondering what would be a good brand/type of food for him when he gets older. (6 months - 1 year, when he can have cat food, not kitten)

I have been thinking about Blue Buffalo dry food, but I don't really know. I am willing to do canned and raw as well. My aunt feeds her Bengal cats a raw diet, so I know how to do thatFrosty will be an outdoor cat, so I maybe thought raw fresh meat...

I would just be nice to hear your opinions on what my little boy should eat, as I am not too sure. Thanks!!

what a cutie!

Raw is best but if that's not something you can do then wet is the best option.  There is commercial raw you can buy. I'm sure there are lots of suggestion in the raw threads.   Cats need the moisture especially male cats they don't get in dry food. (Here's a very popular site why raw, wet is preferable to dry food http://www.catinfo.org/   )

I feed all wet to my 2 kitties.    Some of my favorites are Nutro Natural Choice, Merrick, Weruva, Tiki Cat, Natures Variety, Fancy Feast classic.    If you go to a store like Petco or Petsmart just look for GRAIN FREE canned food.

ps. Some news on Blue Buffalo that may be of interest to you

Thank you!

I was ehh about Blue Buffalo, and no way am I giving that to Frosty!

I would like to feed him a combo of wet and raw, just to give a bit more variety in his diet. I am thinking about chicken heart/liver mix and some raw ground up meat, like what my aunt gives to her kitties. She can't give them normal cat food due to them being close to wild cats, and they have a bad reaction to cat food. He loves fresh meat, and I give a little to him sometimes.

Would this be a good meal plan?
(along with 24/7 dry cat food)

Mon - Cat Food
Tues - Raw
Wed - Cat

Thank you for the brands! It will make my life a whole lot easier!
