Do you like to swim?  Pool, ocean, lake, stream or pond?

I LOVE to be in the water!  If we had a pool I'd be in it constantly!  DH and i talked about it last year; but we would need to see if our yard has the space for one because we have a septic system and several large trees that I LOVE.  I don't mind lake water or streams as long as I can see the bottom.  I don't like stepping on leaves and things at the bottom!  The ocean is fun but I don't like to go too deep.  It's not so fun when a wave catches you off guard and knocks you off or gives you a face full of salt water.
The last time we went out into the water it cost our friend his glasses.  We never found them.

We have a stream near us where people like to wade; but I'm not sure if it's truly allowed.  It's awfully tempting when it's hot.  Otherwise I just have to get in the kiddie pool with my kids.

I'm not really a strong swimmer. I can stay afloat, I just can't move very fast.

I used to swim a lot in the river when I was a kid until I saw a fisherman pull a huge pike out of the water. The teeth on that thing! And my bare toes had been just meters away from it!

I love splashing around in the ocean and I'd like to go swimming in the lakes near here, but they're supposed to be very dangerous. There are five lakes that used to be two lakes until the lava flow covered them. However, they're still connected by underwater tunnels and very cold, strong currents flow through them, which have claimed the lives of unwary swimmers before.

And let's face it, if there is a system of underwater tunnels connecting all the lakes there is bound to be a monster in there somewhere.

Nope. I swam a lot as a kid - mainly in pools and the ocean - and had chronic ear infections. Nowadays I prefer lounging in hot springs.

I like Swimming, but I don't like being out in public in my bathing suit, lol.

The only time I like to swim in the oceans if I can go snorkeling. Otherwise I am not a fan of being salty.

I never learned how to swim "properly" - but I can.  I'm pretty good at holding my breath long enough to get from one side of a pool to another.  That's about the extent of it.  I do, however, enjoy it but sadly no pools accessible for me unless I want to drive to my sisters - both too far away to make it useful.

I used to love the water and swim.  I loved being in the ocean, just nothing like it.  I've also been to lakes and liked that too but nothing compares to the ocean and those waves.

I have not been in the water for years now altho I do go to the Jersey shore quite often but don't go into the water.  Love walking on the boardwalk at night.

Beach walking in the early evening is one of my favorite things with do with DH.  But the boardwalk is a nice 2nd place if we are near one.  Usually we go to one of the less crowded beaches to walk.

DH introduced me to kayaking; that's relaxing without being in the water.  I'd never try ocean kayaking; but on wide streams, lakes or large ponds it is nice!  It doesn't have to be strenuous either.  We rented a double kayak when we visited the Outer Banks a few years ago and I loved it!  We've also gone closer to home.  I just don't like being near plant over-growth.  Dh has a canoe and a kayak and has gone out with a friend and followed some of the waterways around here.  They went through areas that were shallow to where they had to get out and walk them to the next spot.

Nobody will EVER see me again in a swimsuit.

I'm a very poor swimmer but I can do the breaststroke with my glasses on! My son said I can swim in whatever I like nowadays.

Me, too.  Lots of ear infections as a kid.   I did make myself go snorkeling in Fiji a few years ago because it was just too beautiful not to.  The colors of the fish were amazing and I'm glad I didn't miss out on seeing that.  But mostly I like to soak--hot tubs or springs but nothing that requires me to put my head underwater.

I love swimming but don't go much. I love the great lakes best - fresh water, no sharks and some lovely sandy beaches! I hope they warm up this year as last year was so cold I only went once.
Whenever I get the chance I go snorkeling in tropical waters. The fish and wildlife are always so astonishing.
I'd love to have a pool, but really being in this climate zone it seems like a lot of work for limited use.
I don't mind swimming in rivers and old quarries or small dark lakes. Can be a bit creepy thinking of the fish eying your toes though. I came face to face with a surprised turtle once while swimming in an old quarry. He looked mightily unimpressed! :D

I LOVE swimming! I go swimming a few times a week at our local pool. And we go to a resort a few times a year that's a little bit out of town.

Did you read where Nessie (Loch Ness monster) has not been seen now in so long that they fear it may have died? I read that somewhere not too long ago.

We have an in-ground pool. It's not particularly big or anything (only 15 x 30 and goes from 4.5 feet to 8 feet), but it keeps me cool when I need it. (Unfortunately, we haven't had the time this year yet to open it.)
