I'm new to this but I need help...
I have 2 cats and a puppy, but my concern is for 1 of the cats. I've had him for 13 yes and just in the last few months I've been informed that he has diabetes.
I've been fighting for disability for about 4yrs now. Finances are the ultimate issue here. I found a food for him but its $45 a case (24cans, between 2 cats makes it 12 days of food)
The other cat isn't diabetic but I thought it was easier to feed both the same food cuz they always check out the bowl of the other to see if 1 has something better. The other reason for feeding them the same is that they are from the same litter and I figured that it wouldn't hurt the non diabetic to eat better since he's close to 18lbs himself. They both were raised on Friskies.
But my problem is how to feed them better and stay with in the cost I've been at.
I've eliminated dry food back when he was diagnosed. So that is not a problem. They eat twice a day and I haven't been successful in getting him down to 1/2 a "single serving" can at a feeding. The smallest size is 1 can per feeding to be happy and not YELL an hour later. Please don't get me wrong, I can "tune out" the crying for food but its a mission he's on. When he's not full he whines, runs on front of your feet, if your doing dishes or cooking, he will lay in the middle of the floor so that you HAVE to acknowledge him. Yes, I've picked him up and physically moved him, and before I can get back to whatever I was doing, he's back in your way.
Back to the matter at hand, what is a good can cat food at least close to the price of Friskies that is lowest in carbs and sugar???
I'm ok with ordering online if I can find something that is better for them.
