Hello everyone,
First off I could like to say that this kitten has been to a vet who said she appears to be healthy. He also isn't an expert on young kittens so he isn't sure what the discharge could mean other than a possible infection and since she is eating, pottying, and active he wants to opt out of antibiotics unless it becomes obvious that she needs them.
Story: a momma cat was giving birth when a dog chased her off. She has three kittens. Two were still in their sacs so a man removed them and left the babies for mom. She only ever came back for the one kitten whose sac she had removed. The other two were taken in and bottle fed. They were 2.5 ounces. They are now 2 weeks old and doing well as far as activity level and weight gain go:). One is a boy and one is a girl. I am not caring for the kittens personally but am helping mentor a lady who contacted me for advice. The female kitten has had slight cloudy discharge the past couple of days. Not much but enough for it to be noticeable. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it might be? They took a fecal sample to test and she is going to the vet for a follow up soon. I just thought I'd see if anyone on here has any insight! Thank you!

That is not the common...
Its not that many vets wom are experts on young kittens.  Its almost only the vets whom cooperate much with breeders, and or them cooperating much with rescuers.

Any chance you can track such a one and get a second opinion?

I had lost my internet due to moving and just got it back this morning, so I apologize for such a long delay!

This is not common, however despite the vet visit and lack of young kitten knowledge, which IS common with vets, I have to agree at this point and age, to just keep an eye out for any signs of illness or issues, at least until she is a bit older, hopefully it will have been some unknown passing issue that fixes itself!

Just watch her weight, eating and elimination habits, and as long as she continues to do well then it's a wait and see kind of thing.

Okay thanks! That's pretty much what I told her. It's been several days and the discharge hasn't increased or changed in any way. The kitten is still doing very well. She's eating, gaining weight, pottying normal, and her activity level is normal:). Her brother is also doing well:). Having lost 4 kittens about a week ago (tiny tiny rejected newborns that were being tube fed) it's so nice hearing that two other rejected newborns are over two weeks and going strong.
