I had been caring for a sweet stray cat for the past 5 /12 weeks.  Her time with me was short, yet the love was long.  She came to me a very damaged soul, yet I hope she found some love and peace from me.  My heart is broken into a million pieces.  I wish I could have saved her.  Toxoplasmosis ripped through here frail body and she could no longer hold on.

I hope you are running free and catching mice.  I miss you my sweet Sadie girl.  You will be forever loved.

I'm certain she found love and peace with you. You did everything you could, and more. Try to hold on to the moments of play and happiness you were able to give her. You were her hero. Ultimately, there was just too much damage for anyone to repair.

Rest in peace, Sadie. You will always be remembered with love.

Rest in peace, beautiful little princess. Despite the neglect, cruelty and abandonment you had suffered, you knew the joy of truly being loved and cared for during the last chapter of your life. Know that you were loved and prayed for by many people. Your will to live and heroic struggle has been an inspiration to us humans. I know your soul lives on because you loved and were loved, and love is part of God's eternal kingdom.

Sadie, you were such a sweet and brave little soul. We will all miss you very much. Run and play across the bridge now. You touched more lives than you know.

@ShadowsRescue you will be reunited with Sadie again one day and she will thank you for all the love and the caring that you gave her in her last days. Her life could have ended so badly but it didn't because you loved her and filled her life with joy and more than a little comfort. I have no doubt whatsoever that she loves you too and I'm sure she is looking forward to seeing you again someday.  You are an angel to the cats that you care for and the welcoming committee that greets you when the time comes is going to be huge. That little tortie with the soulful eyes will be near the front of the pack.

I've so very sorry to see that she passed on but she's free now, run free Sadie. She had a home and was loved. I'm she knew that and was grateful for it. I do wish it could have turned out differently but it didn't. She was loved right until the end.

Oh, no. She knew what love is those last few weeks of her life, which must have made a big difference. RIP, Sadie.

I'm heartbroken to hear of Sadie's passing. I came on here everyday just to read any updates. I never thought I could fall in love with a cat online but I did and I was praying she would make a full recovery. I'm so glad she found you and was loved and well cared for her last few weeks. She was loved by so many and she will never be forgotten. Run free sweet Sadie

Yes, we were all sending vibes and prayers, light and love. Boy that little girl with so much fight, spunk and spirit really captured our hearts. Her crossing over took a piece of mine with her. :heart2: And your care and dedication, a beautiful beacon, truly. :hugs: :sun: :hugs:

:bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

I hadn't seen updates recently but was so anxious to see how she was doing. My heart dropped like a rock when I saw the locked thread. :bawling: I had to read it from the beginning - all of her good mornings or afternoons gave me the biggest smile (through the tears), because even though I already knew the sad ending to her story, to see Sadie wanting to play or eat or get up ... :rub: . :) . :rub: She definitely had difficulties. But that doesn't make life not worth living. You gave her a reason to fight!!!!! You gave her back the sparkle in her eye. !!!! What a gift. :heart2:

It makes me so terribly sad and angry that life can be so cruel and unfair.

ShadowsRescue, my heart goes out to you. I wish there were anything to say that would help you feel better. I wish love alone could keep them safe. Thank you for working so hard for Sadie. I'm just so so SO sorry her little body just wasn't strong enough. :heart2: . :hugs:

:rbheart: Sadie, you're free of all pain and discomfort now. Your struggle over, your light can shine. I know you wanted to live. If I could turn back time, you'd have found ShadowsRescue soon enough to beat that infection. :rbheart:

I thank you all for your kind words.  I am really struggling.  I miss her so much.  My heart just hurts.

I cleaned out her room yesterday and it was awful.

I know she is at peace and running free.  I hope that in the next few weeks I can have an animal communication session with her.  Right now I am just too raw.

My extended family has never understand my love and care of cats.  They think it's sad Sadie died, but that I didn't know her well enough to be so upset.  My Mom called yesterday and I was crying.  She said she didn't have time to talk to me as she was a a garage sale.  She said that she would call me later.  She didn't.  My brother lives 3 doors from me.  He said he was sorry and I havn't heard from him since.  His wife as said nothing to me.

Fortunately my DH and DS are wonderful.  Yet I was Sadie's full time care giver.  DH played with her, but it was me that was with her.  DS only saw Sadie for a few minutes.  I just want the pain to stop.

I plan to plant something in her memorial.  I will get her ashes next week and sprinkle some into the plant.  I am unsure.  I want something that flowers.

On Friday we had a huge truck full of mulch delivered.  We had to get it spread yesterday.  It was a good diversion for me.  I had moved a few rose bushes in the spring.  They had not looked too good since being transplanted.  Yesterday I noticed that one of them was beginning to open.  As the morning went on, the bud kept opening.  It was a beautiful yellow rose.  It reminded me of Sadie and her golden eyes.

This is the worst part, these first few days when all you can do is cry and think "If only...."

It will get better, in time you'll start to remember all the positive things such as when she played or purred and showed how happy she was to be with you. You were her saviour. No matter how things turned out in the end nothing changes that.

That's such a beautiful yellow rose. Maybe it's her way of saying goodbye to you. It's nice to have something that will flower every year, something positive to remember her by.

I'm sorry that your family aren't more supportive. Some people get it and some people don't. Those who don't get it are the ones missing out, but you know that all of us here on TCS understand.

Love and hugs to you and your other cats. We're all thinking of you.

It's so hard to suffer so much and to have people close to you not understand. Thank God for your DH and DS, they are there for you. It shouldn't matter if the loss is human or not, she still meant the world to you and you are hurting over losing her. I know the pain is unbearable right now, but please remember that you gave that sweet little girl love and security in her final days, what would she have went through without you? You made a tremendous difference in her world, you BECAME her world, and she will love you for eternity for your love and for taking her into your heart. Because you dared to love her so much, you are hurting that much more for the loss to your soul when she left. You will surely be blessed for taking her into your care, you have made such a tremendous difference in the lives of so many, and your love and devotion shines through when you try to help others on this site. Please accept my sincere condolences, if I could I would hug you and cry along with you in your grief, I know what a lonely, grief stricken time those early days are. You are not alone, we will all be there for you, please let us share that agony and try to lessen your pain. You can't save every one of them, but you make such a difference in their lives while they are with you it makes you an angel here on this earth, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work and for what you give of yourself to accomplish what you do. God  bless you. RIP sweet Sadie, you will never be forgotten and will forever be in  ShadowsRescue's heart!

Everything must be so raw right now. I'm so sorry those around you don't 'get it'. You gave your all to that little girl, and she passed having known true love and comfort (and even moments of joy) in her last weeks. That must have meant the world to her. Hold on to that.

You're in my thoughts :hugs:

I am sorry that some of your relatives do not realize the great love of a cat and the great loss there is when one passes on. The rose is beautiful, I think it bloomed for Sadie to let you know she made it alright, she's at peace on the other side. I'm very sorry for your loss, it is very hard to lose them but sometimes, a person bonds strongly with special cats and Sadie was one of those extra special cats. I agree with the others, she knew love and had a home for short while, she knew you loved her and thats the best thing that could ever happen to any cat.

I am so very sorry you lost Sadie. You were her saving grace these past weeks and she couldn't have had any better care or love during her last weeks. What a blessing you were to her and she has left her mark on your heart forever as she was very special to you and I am sorry her little body could not fight any longer. Hold tight to the fact that you probably gave her more in these five weeks time than she has possibly ever had. A little gift along this life's journey and she will never be forgotten. What a beautiful rose too.

:rbheart: Sadie :rbheart:  :angel3: At peace.

I would press this rose to keep. :heart2:

My relatives don't get it either. I didn't expect anything more than "I'm sorry" from them. Thank goodness for Gary (my husband). It really does add insult to injury though, when a mom says she'll call back - and doesn't. :( I'm so sorry, sweetie. It just hurts ALL the way around. :heart2:

Sorry to hear she passed. Family members have told me "it's just a cat, get over it". We know there's no getting over it.

Think of the wonderful gift she gave you and you gave to her.
She finally had a good quality of life she had never had.

Thinking of you.
