Okay. You'll have to get her used to the dish soon enough. :p Try making the food into a baby food consistency. Equal parts should do it. About a scoop of canned food and 0.5 tsp (2.5 mL/cc) of her milk. Sometimes the soft loaf has a few chunks in it, so you might have to mush it down, and then warm it up a little bit. When that's all done you can put some on your pinky finger, then place it in her mouth from the side (she shouldn't have teeth there yet, so it should be easy. You'll probably have to hold her still because she might fussy a bit.)
She'll get the taste and smell of it and then she should go for the small amount in the dish.
Just a heads up, though. She'll go into the bowl, getting it all in her paws. She'll somehow get it on her forhead, legs, all over her face and whiskers. Like I said before, she'll pretty much wear it. It's actually cute. The faces they make when they finish is one of a full belly. You just want to eat them up. :3
It might take a few days to a week or so, but she'll be eating a good amount of solid food by 5 1/5--6 weeks.

Have you tried a different dish, maybe? Mine doesn't like the stainless steel ones. I have to use the ceramic saucers.

That is how my kitten is with the water dish. He'll freak out after he walks through it too. :) They're too funny to watch grow.

Hang in there with your little one! She will get there eventually! Just keep doing what you're doing. She'll be fine! :)

ok she is still very constipated and each time she has an enema she always has blockage I am out of the original enema the vet gave me to use I cannot get out to the vet right now due to my car has broke down Is there a homemade solution I can make to use for her until I get the vet's enema? I can feel the blockage on the side of her tummy so I know they are there and she will never be able to poop until those come out and I massage her belly with every feeding plus massage her while we are just sitting together. every thing else about her is very normal she plays, eats, cleans herself and scratches when she has a itch just cannot poop and see is peeing on her own every time now I still stimulate her to encourage poop but get no results

Oh, dear. I hate to hear that she is backed up again. Have you tried the glycerin suppositories for babies yet?

yes we have many times but they do nothing for her I even tried the Vaseline trick that was mentioned a while back and still get no results ive tried different recipes for her to eat and nothing helps seems like only enemas give her any relief for a moment because she still doesn't poop after an enema cleans her out

Ask your vet about administering subcutaneous fluids at home. It's really easy. Just a simple poke with a needle in the scruff and then you inject the fluids. It makes a bubble under the skin which gradually goes away as the body absorbs the fluids. At my hospital we often use subcutaneous fluids or IV fluids to help constipated kitties. The amazing rehydration that it provides helps make the stopped up feces softer and easier to pass.

Best of luck! Sounds like you're doing a great job so far!!!

Also, if she is eating wet food or even dry food, make sure it's high in fiber. Hill's and Royal Canin make some great gastrointestinal diets that are high in fiber. Hope it all works out! Little Circles is so adorable!!!

The sub-q fluids is an idea. Can you try massaging her in warm water as the vet did that time? Maybe it will help. Otherwise, it sounds like she needs to drink more water, and you'll need to call your vet again. Poor baby!

I'm sorry she is clogged again. Will you be able to get the vet soon?

When does she start her solids?

Well we try solids at every feeding but she refuses to eat from a dish so we end up thinning it a lot and give it to her through her bottle

That's okay. I was hoping her wet food would eventually help to regulate her bowels. We'll see. Any idea when you can get more enemas from the vet?

I wonder if she has "learned" how to poop yet. Most kittens go almost automatically. I find her situation puzzling.

Has your kitten been wormed? If not, it is possible that parasites could be causing an intestinal blockage. There are different types of worms. Please ask your vet about this. It is possible that some de-worming may solve the problem.
