The Sunday before last my cat Goggles had a personality switch. He went from being the kind of the castle, seeking affection and being fearless... to suddenly scared of almost everything. I took him to my vet and they had no clue and they referred me to a specialist. $1600 we found he was dehydrated (I don't know how! I made sure both he and my other cat Toasted Marshmallow always had fresh water!), he was very constipated and he had bladdar stones. The vet said he should go back to normal. Well... he isn't. For nearly two weeks hedidn't like to leave my bathroom and he would lay on one rug. When he got up he would walk with his back slightly arched downward (Like a cat exploring some place for the first time), dialated pupils, and he seems frightened of corners or any random objects. They did xrays on him and didn't find anything wrong. His first day back from 3 days at the vet he did a little better... but now he is back to the rug and acting scared of objects, corners, and even his litterbox. He is almost two and he has been in this house his whole life. Twice before he had similar episodes but they lasted less than 10 minutes... but this has been going on for over 2 weeks and the vets haven't helped with that issue at all and keep disregarding what I say. Someone, anyone, has your cat went through this? What was the cause? I have a neurologist appointment set up for him next but everything is so much money.. if it is simple or treatable by normal means then please tell me and help me. I miss waking up to a furry face rubbing on me, to loud meows and a furball jumping into my arms... a crazy cat who ran around like a bat out of Hell, caught mice, and just LOVED. I am so lost without his anctics.

I do wonder. Humans can have seizures where the only symptom is fear. Hope the kitty neurologist can help.
