Hi...I am new to the site and don't know how to start a new thread. I have a beautiful young boy named Morris that was recently declawed.. Even though I was against it, it was something that had to be done because my mother in law insisted because of the furniture and because her two cats were declawed as well. I believe he is suffering from neuropathy and I am treating him with my gabeptin as well as pain medication and an antibiotic to make sure there's no infection. Can anyone give me advice on how to make him more comfortable? All I want to do is help him because I feel so bad that this was done but it can't be taken back. So my main concern and goal is to make you more comfortable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

The only thing I know about it is using a special litter.  I don't know if it's still made but there was one called Yesterday's News that is made out of newspaper.  I understand that some people actually use shredded paper as litter initially.  Doesn't do much good as litter but it is less painful for kitty so may help to keep kitty using the litter box.
