I just took in a new little baby who is about 6 weeks old. His mom was a stray and he seems to be adjusting well. At night I put him in a crate and he won't stop crying. He has an extra blanket to snuggle in and a stuffed animal. It is breaking my heart to hear him cry all night, is there anything I can do?

I'm hopeless.. I'd have him in with me...
Poor little boy is missing his mum as six weeks is early to be on his own.

Here's an article that may help, although it talks about kittens from 8 to 16 weeks, usually because it's best that they don't leave their mum before that.  But you'll see that loads of handling and loving are really important.

Hopefully those with more experience with kittens of this age can help you more..

Mani told the core.    You could make your own super stuffed companion, from fleece, and having a little heating pad inside it...   As heating pad you can use a sock with rice in int, and warm up the rice in micro.   How long depends, may be 5 minutes...  You want the warmth to continue and spread a good while, but you dont want the rice to become burning hot...

This works if you either decide you MUST have him in the cage, or if he is allowed to be with you, and have this companion anyway.

You Mani had said the most important.  Its essential to be very mommy to such small kittens.  Be Very extra mommy.
