So, my Luna had kittens about four weeks ago. I've started weaning/potty training. Well, one of the kittens today practically scarfed up the food. It is the first time I've fed them today BUT they've nursed on momma like four times since I got home from work at 4:00. I'm at work during the day so I am going to start feeding them in the morning before I leave and then as soon as I get home at night. Right now, I have them on Purina Kitten Chow...which they seem to like. Is there any good CANNED kitten food so that maybe someone else in the household can feed them while I am at work? I work from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Also, potty training. Right now, all the seem interested in doing is eating the litter. Is that dangerous? I can't leave the dry food on the ground because 1) I tried feeding them straight dry food and one of them was almost choking on it and 2) momma cat wants to scarf it all up! Their litter box is in the kitten because I have a 2 year old who likes to play in it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I am not sure if you have the same brands in your country, so I don't feel comfortable advising on canned food.

The potty training; the litter you are using, is it like a clay like litter that clumbs together when it gets wet? If so, you might want to temporarily use other litter until they understand they shouldn't eat it. It happens a lot that kittens in the start eat the litter, basically because they are curious (It's new, smells weird, there's a LOT of it.. It's interesting :p). If you have non-clumping litter it should be okay. If it is clumping, they can get dehydrated as it'll take the fluids out of their system, and you do want to be careful with that.

The litter is non-clumping.
