The kittwns had their first vet appt last weekend and am anxious about the integration. Any advice? Should I wait until they're a little older? Thanks on advance!

So they are healthy?   How long have thry been with you - sort of quarantine?

How long shall they stay with you?

Ok. Re the integration.

It is useful for the kittens to have meet also other, friendly cats. So it may be good yes.   And of course esential if they stay with you more than some week extra.

But if in doubt, its not necessary they meet the residents.   I know breeders whom not let their kittens met the other adult cats, not once during the 12 weeks the kittens are at home.

And this is not health quarantine, as everyone is healthy, but they dont want to put stress, not on residents and not on the kittens and their mom (who may be protective).

With friendly residents its seldom a real problem, especielly as the kittens have the smells of the house, and of you the caretaker of both the kittens and the residents, on you...

So the problem comes really first if your residents arent very sociale or very friendly.   OR the mom is highly protective...

I mean, moms are often quite protective, its part of their job...

Please come back with further reports, so I (or someone other) will try to develop more details.

The resident cat is friendly. She is an 8 month old kitten herself. When I adopted the mama cat she was a little aggressive with her. I'm keeping the babies, but fear that the mama cat will show more aggression to the resident cat due to the kittens being so young. They will be 7 weeks this saturday. Is it better to wait after they've wend completely or start integration now?

Its better to start now, as they are still in the easy socialization age.   It will be still entirely possible later on, but probably not so easily...

So the problem may be the mom, who is of course protective.  Begin by scent swapping, say from kitten to resident...

Be sure the meeting is in a place comfortable for both mom and resident, and kittens.

Be there at the meeting, superwise, and talk sweetly to all...  Your sweetly voice and encouragement will cool things down if it begins to heat.   Some hissing may be there, but as long there is no violences, some hissing "just if" is no big problem.
