She was 13 years young and a very nervous cat. We called her our barometer kitty because she would howl, run low and hide long before we ever heard the thunder or rain. She died of congestive heart failure. She had been sick for a year and we counted ourselves lucky to have had that extra year after her diagnosis. We spoiled her rotten after that! She was a special spirit and I will love her always. She looked like a Chocolate Point Siamese but we called her our Belgium Waffle Point. She always wanted on my left side where ever I was. Our other cat, Phoebe, is my right hand kitty. I am awaiting a new kitten to be released from Obsession Cattery. There is a hole in my heart until then.

Thank you for sharing your memories of Koco, she sounded like quite the little princess. I'm so sorry for your loss, and the hole in your heart. May your new little one ease your sorrow, and build lots of new memories to add to the wonderful ones you hold of Koco.

I'm so sorry for your loss. There will always be a cat-shaped hole in your heart that may get smaller but I don't think it can ever be filled.

I'll move this to the Rainbow Bridge forum, our special place to honor and mourn our special friends who have passed.

She will always be there in spirit and loving memories, even as the pain subsides.

I am sorry about your loss of Koco. Thirteen is much too young. I lost my Dusty in November at age 17. I know how you feel. Have you received your new kitten yet? New life in the home really does help and you will be giving "new life" to any rescue you make. I have 5 other cats that have helped me, although the loss of Dusty was quite hard on everyone. But, we are all doing better. Hope you are well.

Yes. At first I said no more cats as my heart was so broken and she had been sick for a year. But I finally realized that much of the grief I was feeling was loneliness not the loss. When I made the decision to get another cat I was so much happier.
I had a Siamese that made it to 17 years. She was my soul mate as she helped me raise my two daughters. I was very hard to let her go.
