How many treats do you give your cats? Mine get 1-2 temptations and 1-2 catisfactions/dreamies max per day. No problems so far.

They do say don't feed anything from China to your pets or your kids. Where are these problems occurring? I've not heard of them in Europe, I know there can be differences in ingredients internationally.

Thank you for posting this information. I feed my kitties these treats. I did not thoroughly read all of the information, but any cases of these treats being harmful is enough to cause me concern. Mine have never exhibited any adverse symptoms but I will definitely be switching treats anyway, just to be on the safe side. After all, mine don't care what kind of treats they get, they love them all

It's probably a batch problem not a problem with every bag. They use meat by products in their food. Not necessarily bad but you don't know what type of meat or type of byproduct. Sometimes the company doesn't even know as they buy them wholesale in big vats. I could see that leading to contaminated product and potential health issues in certain batches.

My poor Tatiana will starve to death if they every quit making Temptations.  We feed wet food to our 4 cats twice a day (fancy feast gravy lovers and sliced), we also have dry food (a natural blend formulated for indoor cats) available on demand.  Tatiana holds out for Temptations.  I used them to teach her tricks like kisses, high five, shake and sit.... If I go to sleep without giving her temptations she will wake me up biting my nose, and not lightly either.  She will high five me, head butt me, kiss me... and sit on my chest until I give in.  She is such a love bug I haven't the heart to lock her out of my room because no matter how hard I try, she will NOT sleep with me... but she will let me know in no uncertain terms when my daughter goes to work that it is time for me to get up and fix breakfast.  She doesn't like the wet food, or the dry food... but as soon as the other cats are occupied eating, she makes direct eye contact and high tails it to my bedroom where her treats are hidden. If I don't follow, she will follow me around crying until she gets them.  My biggest issue with Temptations is price.  Oh, and did I mention there is only one flavor of Temptations she will eat.. .its the backyard cookout variety.  God love the kitty... but the treats are so expensive - and she eats them like food.  But she is healthy and happy.  No issues so far.  My last cat lived to be 19 years old and when we got her I didn't k now anything about proper cat nutrition.  I had a huge "weekend" type feeder where you just throw the food in there and more falls out as they eat it, and I think friskies was the dry food they ate.  The more attention we pay to what we feed our cats, the more issues we have with tummy sensitive and picky eaters.  IDK, those cats just better be glad I love them because they sure are a pain in the buttocks when it comes to food and healthcare.

I lost my Argyle on Jan 22nd. Apx three hours after eating the Temptations 'Merry Medly' chicken and seafood, their Xmas version, he began to vomit, drool, froth, pace, and cry. He died that night at the emergency clinic. Episode lasted from noon until about 11pm. He died a horrific and miserable death. Nothing was unusual about that morning. Nothing except I let my 5yo give him his treats, and she gave him more than usual. 3 hours later our nightmare began. I will NEVER buy these again.

My cats have never tried the Temptation treats at all. I have heard too many bad things about them, so just never bought them. Both cats do eat Party Mix treats, and so far they seem healthy. My previous kitty, Mickey, never liked any treats at all, so no problem there.
It just seems to me that if a company knows that their product is making others ill, possibly even leading to a death, that company has a responsibility to do something about their product. They should stand behind the problem and fix it. No cat should be getting ill and even dying from a cat treat.

I am sorry for your loss.  Where did you purchase the treats?  Were they from a pet store or a dollar tree, or do you know where the treats were made?  Others have said Temptations in the US are from Canada, and not to feed stuff from China.. and I think some of the discount stores get (or got - we will see how Trump affects this) product from China because it was cheaper.  My poor Tats loves her temptations... but I certainly don't want anything bad to happen to her.

Now I'm scared, my Snoop loves hes anti hairball whiskas treats. We don't give him those because they are 'anti hairball, but our guy really loves them. Luckily I don't give them too often, maybe one pack per month

<3 ((((((((^^)))))))) <3 Fly free, whole, healthy, and forever LOVED, sweet angel ARGYLE <3

My heartfelt condolences for your loss.

I think my previous comments on the subject of these treats says it all.  They may be irresistible (why? I wonder.  What is in them?) but is it any coincidence that so many have reported these tragedies in conjunction with their use?  I guess we all have to think for ourselves on that one.  I know what I think.

My cat loves temptations and he has no problems with them. He only gets them when family members by them for him as a present. So it's usually only Christmas time that he gets them. I agree that the bags with multiple flavors seem pretty gross to me. Almost like scraps after all the production. So he's only allowed solid flavor bags and only a couple treats at a time. Other than that he usually gets fancy pet store treats or veterinary treats. I know that consumer affairs website can be pretty crazy. You can search any products and find a lot of nasty reviews there. So I find that website needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I'm sure there's some truth to it but it can't all be true.every animal reacts to ever product differently. It's all about what works for your animal and all things in moderation. But if there's recalls and serious stuff going down, then run far away!

I found a small sample packet of Dreamies in a box of Felix cat food sachets. I gave 4-5 yo each of my two cats and was horrified by the results. My 3 year old cat Hugo went into a hyperactive fit running around non stop for half an hour while 17 year old Carter was violently sick. It was so quick and could only have been caused to what they had just eaten. These will not be allowed in the house again! Every cat owner I know has had similar problems

I have talked to many people who feed these. Some have had no problems. Others have had minor to major digestive problems after feeding them. And even a couple have had their cats refuse to eat anything but these treats. Went off the wet/dry food completely.
I don't know if the article is true or not, but I have not nor ever will feed these to a cat.

ALWAYS better safe than sorry. Whatever could be said about these, we'll never have them in our house either.

Hi. While the subject of good and bad things to feed our cats is still fresh I'd like to know why my cats prefer to drink this filthy rain water that's collected in a (recently and thoroughly cleaned) old litter tray bottom rather than the filtered tap water served in clean bowl that's lovingly prepared by their owners? Even when there are no containers outside for rain water to collect they drink from the drain, manhole covers and every filthy place going. In all the cats I've had over the years Carter and Hugo are the greatest lovers of filthy outside water. While they'll drink this they are extremely fussy with food. They won't eat ANY supermarket own brand wet food even if it's in the finest, best quality, deluxe or fresh from the sea range. Tinned food is a no go and except own brand Chewsticks, no economy treats of any type. They love wafer thin honey roast ham slices but again turn their noses up at the economy packs. While their fussiness sometimes leaves us bewildered I do understand their refusal to eat wet food that's been on their plate for longer than an hour in the winter and about 10 minutes in the summer
