Guess what we did yesterday! Depressing but necessary. Made arrangements for our cremation when the time comes (hopefully a long time in the future). But it's something we've planned to do and just couldn't make ourselves do it. For us it's the best thing, maybe not for everybody. A friend of ours was a funeral director (we know him from our old gym), came over and did the paperwork. At least he has a sense of humor --- asked us if we wanted "shake and bake" or "extra crispy".

'extra crispy', that's funny.
Good for you for getting it handled.  My folks set up pre-paid cremation plans years ago so when my dad passed, it made it much easier on all of us emotionally, especially my mom to not have to think about making all the arrangements.

That is funny!

Being single, It's not something I have done, but have told my family I'd want to be cremated.  I also told my mom, God forbid, if anything ever happened to me while Angel was still here, to contact his vet. She knows him so well, loves him, & knows how sensitive he is, so I know she would find the best home for him, sense he is used to it only being he & I.    ......but I don't even want to ever think that would happen.

My family already knows I am to be cremated and Mia is to be euthanized and cremated and buried with me(if I go first) due to the fact that she socially cant be around people well. She almost got taken away from me before from a different apartment building I lived at that a lady accused her of biting. She had but I was under 24 hr watch medically at the time. I had lived there a year and 3 times I had to go before the board and fight to keep her as my companion. She was threatened by their coming in during the middle of the night when I wasn't conscious. We no longer live there and she is doing better but still weary and hates when I am gone. Norville will have no problem with being my daughter though.  :)
