I have two pretty active 6 month old male kittens, each weighing about 7 pounds, and I'm looking for some advice! They currently get 8-9 ounces of wet food per day, fed over three meals, and they each generally eat at least 80% of each meal. I also put 2/3 cup of dry food out in the morning and leave it out for them,  (I know the varying opinions about dry food - please don't debate dry food free-feeding here!).

I'm going to be starting a full-time job soon, so I need to transition them to two feedings a day instead of three. My question is: should I just gradually phase out the lunch meal and then be feeding 5-6 ounces of wet food a day with the dry, or should I still feed 8-9 oz but over the two meals?

Keep the amount of food the same, just split between the 2 meals. Unless you see that there is more food being wasted/uneaten. Their stomachs can only hold so much food at a time.

Have you thought about maybe getting a timed feeder for the midday meal? Some use ice packs to keep the food fresh and other members on here freeze a meal and it is thawed by the time it's time to eat.

Another option would be to keep their wet meal sizes the same, but increasing the amount of dry they get to make up the extra calories.
