I have a 2 year old male kitty who is my best friend.  However, after another one of my cats went into heat before I got her fixxed he has started spraying/uriniating everywhere.  I dont know what to do to get him to stop.  My wife is at her wits end with him and it wont be long before he is forced to become an outside kitty or something along those lines.  I have done everything i can think of: litter boxes are always clean, throughly cleaned the carpet where he does it,  used the pharmone spray to try and make him less agitated.  I have done everything I can think of and if you have anything else I can try I would be extremely thankful.

Sincerely,

Alex

I have the same cat. Tigger was a stray I brought inside several years ago. The vet said he was already fixed. He has peed/sprayed all over the house.  I have huge master bedroom suite which is his part of the house (for a long while he would miss the litter boxes and he likes to pee in front of my husband's armoir.) I have a feliway diffuser in the bedroom, and he wears a pheromone collar all the time.  He goes for long periods being ok, but about 9 months ago he started up on my dining room curtains.

Try to make the areas he is spraying unavailable to him. Put a barrier up. Always clean up the mess so the smell is not there to attract them.

I use rug doctor urine/stain eliminator to get rid of the stains urine. I also have petpbot for use in cleaning the pee areas.

Also, try to judge his behavior. Tigger will circle through the living/dining/kitchen area meowing in a high pitch, which means he needs to go upstairs in his room and most likley pee. When Tigger does this, I get him upstairs ASAP. The vet says I can put him on prozac, but I have declined.

Oh and I'd suggest you use Safe Space for Cats, by Jackson Galaxy. I have used it on Tigger for a year now and it has helped with his fraidy cat behavior.
