My cat, Tally, is 9 years old. She's always had a vomiting issue and I've brought her to the vet in the past and they always recommended hairball treatment. This did not work. I've always fed her dry food and eventually settled on Iams Sensitive Stomach food to try and help her tummy. In the last few months, she's started vomiting immediately after eating...every single time. She seemed sick a couple weeks ago so I did some research and bought some canned pumpkin and wet food. I fed her this for a few days and she did great. I decided maybe wet food was the way to go and have been feeding her wet food 4x a day for the last couple weeks. She's seemed to be feeling better and has a lot more energy. I've been avoiding food with gluten and carageeneen in case of allergy issues.

So far I've fed her: Wilderness (BB) grain free, Pedigree Muse grain free and Purina Beyond grain free. I mix a little pumpkin in once a day because she seems to like it.

Last night she threw up for the first time in at least 2 weeks. She threw up again tonight. I thought she was doing better so I'm very discouraged. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

How often does she eat the wet food?

What size are the portions?

Does she wolf her food down quickly?

If she eats very quickly that can be the cause and we can address it as a behavior issue.  If she eats at a modest pace and then throws up it could be a (new) food intolerance, or an obstruction of her bowel or stomach, or another type of illness.  Regardless, unless she eats very rapidly and its a large portion then a vet visit is in order to figure out this new problem since it obviously isn't a hairball and your vet, needs to pay more attention to what is going on.

fruitable pumpkin superblend digestive supplement! I found it in a can at the pet store it was in the dog section but it's for both cats and dogs. It has lots of fibre, which is why your vet suggested hair ball control food, soluble and insoluble fibre, as well as stomach calmers. My cats love the taste and texture, it mixes into the wet food great. It's been a saviour for me. Hope that helps!
