Is she close to giving birth?

Hi everyone! I've been skimming around this site for a few days now for advice on my very pregnant cat, and decided I would ask for advice myself! My little brother has a terrible habit of accidentally letting our cat out, and apparently one of the times he did, she must have found another cat, and here we are! We are getting her spayed as soon as it is safe after the kittens are born to prevent this from happening again, don't worry. But I'm curious as to if anyone has any ideas of how close she is to having her babies! I know she's getting fairly close, but I don't know if it is within weeks, days or hours! She is extremely affectionate, and always wants me to be by her side. Her belly is very big, and I can feel and very clearly see the kittens pushing around, and they're pushing hard! Her nipples are also pink and slightly swollen, and they have little flakes of what appears to be milk on them. I checked, and she isn't having any sort of discharge. I took her temperature, and it is 100.0F even. She eats just a little less than normal, but did get sick once earlier today. She has also been sleeping and laying around a lot the past few days, which is weird for her. I've done a lot of research into this as it is a first litter for both of us, and I have a nesting box that she has been getting used to as well as all the tools I could need. Just curious as to how close she might be, I'm getting excited and impatient! If anyone else has any advice on how to prepare for this, or any other signs to watch out for, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

She sounds like she is within a week, if not days, of giving birth. When you no longer see the kittens move means they are dropping into the birth canal. If you see her sides rippling then she is having early contractions. She should begin to dilate a day or two before as well. Good luck ! :)

I'm starting to get really excited! I checked her temperature this morning, and it was 99.5F, and when I just checked it, it was 98.9F!

Temperature is not always the best indicator, as it can fluctuate, so just keep in mind to look for other signs as well. Hope it's going well! :)

Right now she seems pretty normal, and none of her other behavior has changed, but I'm definitely keeping an eye out for any other indicators!
