Aww, they're cuties! Purebred cats are fairly rare, and they don't usually end up in barns ;). The vast majority of cats have no purebred background at all; we call them domestic shorthairs (or longhairs). Your kitties are solid blue.

If I had to pick a purebred they resemble, Russian Blue would probably be closest.

Agreeing.  These kittens are really too young to tell more exactly what look alikes they may turn into.   If their eyes become green, and perhaps even the fur more silvery shaded, they may be labelled as Russian Blue look alikes.

If they become very slender, they may become into Orientale look alikes...  There may be a couple more of possible breeds...

And if they arent look alikes, they can always be labelled as Maltese cats - the traditional name for all blue cats where we cant trace down a sure origin or at least, a look alike label.

Do you know how is their mom looking?   She may have been blue as they - she may have been black...  We cant know apriori.

That said,  I have known several cases of scandinavian RB whom got astray, from good caretaking owners too. Usually during travels to and from Shows or mating.

It was just some single example where the disappearance was a little suspected, as the cat was on transfer list...And adult cats arent easy to get new home too.

I know also, an uncle to my residents become orphan in the age of 8 years, as his owner died.  At that occasion it become known, he was as yet unspayed stud, and he was allowed to roam outside.   (they got a new owner to him, it was never necessary for us to step in).   And thus I KNEW  there must be some homeless cousins to my residents....

Its in part of that background to my long pursuit of helping homeless and ferales.  I began with it in the name of these homeless cousins.  I couldnt help them, but I could help other homeless...  And so I did.

Forgive my rant.  Memories did arise.
