We've got some china items hand painted by my paternal grandmother - plates, candlesticks, vases, etc. - and china and crystal passed down from my maternal grandmother.

Where my cats are
My Grandparents house is getting ready to be sold; so I've got a few recent additions.  A few years ago my Grandpa gave me a curio cabinet he made for my Gram.  I also have old Christmas ornaments from their tree; mostly glass balls.  I also have pieces from their good china and their everyday.  My mother has other things; that will eventually go to me too, a writing desk and a bench.  We have other things my Grandpa made.  Woodworking was one of his hobbies; so I think we all have different pieces that he made and painted at some point or another.

Yes, it's a set of two! The shades have seen better days (the grey isn't dust, it's that faded, and my aunt admitted to tearing one while cleaning) and I'm a bit apprehensive since one of the shades appears to have been burnt at some point, but these have been sitting in my grandparents' home for 35+ years. I may not have their couch set 25 years from now, but I'll probably still have these lamps!

Something about the old practical things, and especially the old hand crafted things have so much more character than mass produced Ikea furniture and stuff - truly individual pieces that can't be duplicated.
