I found two kittens right outside my backyard door, they seemed abandoned so I tried to get them to both come inside. The grey and white one seemed thankful and came inside right away, but the black one was terrifeied and didn't want to come in. It was hissing and stuff so I left it alone. I've never had a pet before so I did some research and estimated the age of the ktiten to be about 4 weeks old. I named her Lily, and she's a very quiet docile kitty who prrs whenever petted, but I don't know if its normal for her to be so quiet..Since i didn't have any cat food on hand, I fed her some wild tinned salmon, and she lapped it up.

Today I fed her salmon again, and walked to my dollarstore and bought her some kitty food. I looked for some type of kitty milk but I didn't see any. Now I'm trying to feed her moistened kitty food but she won't really eat, she's sleeping a lot, and avoiding the food just to nap. All she's had today is the salmon. I'm thinking of feeding her salmon again because at least she ate that but I read too much fish is bad. I'm really worried, she's not very active and isn't eating. On top of that, I haven't seen her poop or pee since. I have no idea if she has any diseases, and I'm 17 without a job so I don't have money for a vet. And my mom doesn't like animals and is just by a hair letting me keep this one, just cause she's so cute and tiny.

Also, I shoudl mention I tried to let the other kitty in the house but that one is way more aggressive and he scared the crap out of my little brother. So we had to force him back outside since none of us are very experienced with animals. That poor kitty was meowing ALL night, my brother started crying cause he felt bad we couldn't take him in.We left food out for him. I just don't know what to do about Lily, I'm unable to provide her with kitty milk, she's not eating enough, she's sleeping too much, as well as vigorously shaking her head from time to time, sneezing. (I checked her ears for mites but saw nothing). What do I do? I don't want her to die.

Sweetheart, I know you are trying to help these kitties and bless you for trying but I'm worried by your descriptions of the kittens.  Do you have a cat rescue in your area?  The kitten that you have brought inside needs to be seen by a vet.  If you cannot afford to properly care for the kittens you should not keep them.  Call a rescue or the humane society to get them some help.

I agree with Dandila,   if you can get someone more experienced, its better the more experienced takes over.  That person could perhaps take also her bro?

IF you cant find anyone better caretaker,  (a common shelter will often pts a sick kitten that age - so make sure they wont), and or decide to fight on:

Its in a way luck she is sick - its probably why she accepts willingly to come inside...   Only fish isnt so good as you say, but at this moment, the main thing is she eats something.  Baby food, type  Gerber stage one, the unlavored sorts of chicken and turkey, are good and safe.   These you can have on your finger and let her lick off...

Minced meat is often used for small kittens...

If you can get goat milk, its swell.  Raw goat milk is best, but bottled full fat is OK too...   Plain unsweetened full fat youghurt  is OK too.   Many cats manage badly cow milk.  If you dont have anything else than cow milk, try with full fat low lactose milk.

Be sure she drinks alot, dehydration is a problem taking forces from them.  common water is OK.

Be sure she has it warm and cozy - sick people are always freezing, no? surely she too. So some sort of heating pad may be good.  You can make do a sock filled with rice, and heat it up in micro.  At least 2 minutes, may be up to 5 - you will see.  It shall not be too hot...  Wrap it up in a towel, so tis not burning her.

You can also carry her at your chest.

If you want to make a new try with the bro, its best he is in his own room (may be bathroom).  Make a bed / cat igloo for him from a side turned cardboard box, so he can hide a little, and rest there.   Being in his own safe room, he will cool down, and soon enough he will accept yours love him too...

At that age it goes quickly.

Although I hope and think they are a little older than 4 weeks - 5-6 weeks maybe.  Undernourished kittens often looks younger then thay are...

I think it was the most important for now.

Please come back with reports and further questions.

Tx for caring!

Good luck!

Yes, please find a no-kill shelter and try to take both kittens in. Do you have a box to put them in, or borrow a pet taxi from a neighbor? It does sound like the baby in your house needs to see a vet. In the meantime, please continue to feed both kittens. The little brother kitten is actually afraid of you guys. He would most likely settle down once he feels safe inside your home. Do you have any friends with experience with cats who might be able to come over and help you with both kittens?
