A couple days last week, our cat started vomiting white foam several times a day.  Occasionally it would have a blade or two of grass in it, but for the most part, it just looked like saliva.  I looked it up, and found that it's not too serious as a rule--just means they're vomiting on an empty stomach.  The vomiting stopped, but now she is nearly scratching herself raw!!  She has several sore spots on her--under her neck, back of her neck, under her chin, near the corner of her mouth, and the opening to her ears look red/raw.  (Not her actual ears, but the little spots at the top of her head where her ears are attached...there's fur there, but not much.  Does anyone know what i'm talking about?  lol)  I assumed maybe she had gotten in to something...these don't look like wounds from another cat--I think she must have run through someone's yard after it was maybe fertilized, or sprayed for bugs.  I gave her a bath last night with some generic run of the mill cat shampoo (Made by Hartz, I think) and rinsed her very thoroughly.  She seems to be "okay" at this point--she's definitely eating and using her litter box normally, playing, etc. but she continues to scratch.  ANY idea what this could be, and is it necessary to take her to the vet?  These spots that she's scratching look gooey/sore, but not infected--yet.  Should I be putting Bactroban on them or something to see if I can help heal them, or should I just bite the bullet and take her to the vet??

They will almost certainly get infected if they are not treated soon.  Since vomiting can irritate a cat's throat, and since she's scratching in that area i would mention both issues to your vet, and your cat should see a vet soon before you get a hard to control infection.
