Early yeasterday morning (around 8-8:30 ish), my pregnant cat Mau started producing a bloody discharge, with spotting inbetween, and after a couple of hours, it stopped.

She's been eating and drinking regularly, sleeping, and going to the litter box.

I for sure thought that within the past 12 hours she would of given birth, but hasn't. There are no signs of labor, other than the discharge.

I've been through many feline births, but have never waited this long with no signs. Is this normal for a cat or a cause for alarm?

If she's not in distress I would just wait. They can have some discharge before labor begins. How is she now? Any more signs?

Thanks sarthur2 for your reply!

Very sorry for the late update, but I had to take her in to the vet.

The bleeding became heavier and she ended up having a stillborn baby. I was saddened, but also glad my Mau didn't end up sick.

Ended up taking the kitten home and buried it next to my once beloved hamster and dachshund.

Mau will also be getting spayed to prevent this from happening again.

Sorry about the stillborn baby. I'm glad your cat is okay and getting spayed now. Thanks for the update.
