I know I'm not the only proud owner of a gorgeous senior cat, let's see some appreciation for the grouchy/sleepy/stubborn/lovable kitties who have been around for the long haul!

Been putting up with this lovely fool for 15 years! She's seen me from elementary school all the way to college. Her age doesn't show but she's my old lady!

Both of your kitties are beautiful/handsome.

Here's my current seniors.

Luvbug - Currently my eldest at 15 years. He's the one in the forefront.

Fang - 13 years.

Drooler - 13 years and Fang's brother.

Lil' Jag - 11 years in August this year and Luvbug's girlfriend.

Buster - 11 years old in July this year. Our semi feral who has calmed down considerably.

ANd my Angels - Sphinx aged 17 in this picture and passed at age 18 years,

Kuce aged 19 in this picture. Passed away a few months later.

Dancing Bear - aged 16 in this picture and passed at age 17.

Only 1 of my cats isn't pictures here is Smudge as he isn't a senior yet as he just turned 6 years.

This is Flower. The vets guess he's about 15 years old. He was brought into the vet hospital where I work as an injured stray. Poor guy had really bad diarrhea, fleas, worms and a wound on his hip. With injured/sick strays we fix them up and then send them to the shelter if they're not adopted by an employee or a client first. No one was interested in adopting this old man because of his terribly messy diarrhea and he must have been outdoors his whole life because he has no clue what a litter box is. But he has the sweetest disposition I've ever seen and was so incredibly cuddly that I decided to adopt him. I paid for all his treatment, had him neutered and did a full blood/urine panel on him and he eventually got well enough to come home with me. He now lives in the backyard but occasionally I'll let him hang out in the kitchen where his messes can be cleaned up easily. I don't normally advocate for keeping cats outside but he refuses to use a litter box. He's such a sweet boy and loves to sleep in the sunshine and pounce around chasing bugs. He makes me smile everyday and I'm so glad I saved him from going to the shelter. He's a lucky guy and I'm lucky to have such an amazing kitty.

Senior cats have this way of wrapping around my heart, ever since I had my previous pair of litter sisters who lived with me for nearly 18 years for one and 22 for the other.   I adored them more in their later years than I could ever have imagined.  Those of us who are privileged to have these senior cats in our lives have riches others can only imagine.

This is Pal, my darling at 21, a few days before she crossed the bridge.   She was lithe and sleek as a youngster but arthritic later.  Nervous and hissy until her sister crossed the RB she suddenly blossomed in to a cuddlebug:

My lotto was an angel. I had him from the age of 3 months till nearly 20. I loved him so much even when I put my hand under my covers to stroke him and got nipped in the proceeds. That's the only time he bit. He was very gentle.
