The mom will need lots of nutrition - feed her kitten food, canned as well as dry if you can, and give her as much as she wants. Make sure she also has plenty of water, as she'll need it to make milk.

Do you have a small kitchen scale or baby scale to weigh the babies? They should gain at least 10 grams a day, or about 1/3 oz.

Are they warm enough? The kittens need warmth. Can you put a heating pad under some blankets on low for extra warmth? Put them all in a box or pet carrier that mom can fit into as well? Or a sock filled with rice, microwaved for 5 minutes and rolled into a towel placed nearby? Kittens cannot regulate their body temperature for the first 3 weeks, and need to be warm to nurse and digest.

Are they protected from predators? Can you bring them all inside to live?

You could put tiny drops of pedialyte into the side of the babies' mouths while holding them on their tummies. A drop or two at a time, let them swallow and breathe. Might revive them a bit. Use a dropper or syringe. Most importantly they need to nurse frequently on mom. Set out a water bowl for mom too. She might like some KMR formula to drink for extra nutrition if you can purchase some at Walmart or pet store.

Milk might be okay, but it could upset her tummy if she's lactose intolerant.

Some people give the mom KMR (kitten milk replacer) as a supplement for extra nutrition. It would be good to buy some anyway in case you need to supplement the kittens with it.

If you arent sure  she manages common cow milk, dont use it.  Low lactose milk is somewhat safer, if you cant get anything else.  Plain unsweetened youghurt is OK though.

If you can get goat milk, this is always ok.  Raw goat milk is even excellent - both for mom, and also for the kittens if they would even need som extra supplement.

Or the kmr - kitten milk replacer - always ok too...  Especielly the brand made by PetAg, in powder, called for KMR - is safe and good.

As someone mentioned - if you can get the whole little family inside, it would be safer and easier for everyone.

Good luck!   @Annie61

Yes, use the button next to the @ sign to upload pictures. It's in the Reply box at the top where the 4 signs are. Sorry to hear one is struggling. Hope the extra feeding will help!

The struggling one is tiny. Does it nurse mama at all? Let's hope your supplemental feedings will give it the nourishment it needs! Do you need advice on how to feed kittens or are you good to go? That mama kitty is very pretty by the way! She looks snow white!

I'm so sorry she did not make it. Bless her little heart. You did everything you could to help and show her love and offer comfort. Sadly, they just don't all make it.

How are the others doing? Are they all okay?

I'm so sorry you lost her.

It happens sometimes, it can't be helped. At least she was loved for those few short days.

I hope the Mama cat and all the other kittens continue to thrive. Keep us updated, thank you for helping them.
