I've never had a pregnant cat before and I'm hoping to get an idea of when my cat might give birth. Her belly is pretty big and is starting to sag. There's a noticeable downward curve in her spine now because of her big ole preggo belly. Her nipples are large and the hair around them is gone. There are white dots on the tips of each of them, I'm not sure if that's dried milk or just the way they look when preggo. She's normally a very affectionate cat  anyway but is now even more so. She follows me around everywhere and wants nothing more than to be snuggled 24/7. She's recently started kneading me excessively. I can definitely feel the babies moving around in there, very neat! She showed up at our farm about four months ago. I'm assuming she was tossed out of a vehicle window because she showed up with a huge hole in her leg and a broken toe. I'm a vet tech so I set her toe as best I could and started her on antibiotics. She healed up well and is just the best cat ever, can't imagine why someone wouldn't want her. She's normally an outdoor cat but I brought her in today and started her on kitten food. Size wise I'm thinking she still has another week to go but what I've read online says pretty much everything I've described are signs of impending labor. Any thoughts?

I agree, its near, at most a week, but she hasnt dropped yet, so its not immediately imminent.

Rub her belly if she so wants and allows.

Tx for caring!

... or so it seems! I'm dying to meet her babies, and it seems like they're never going to get here. I took her into work with me (I work at an animal clinic) and the vet said she had about two or three weeks to go. That was about three and a half weeks ago. She's been walking around the house looking for a place to nest. We have six dogs in the house and I think she's having trouble finding a good spot. While we're sleeping or away from the house we put her in our spare bedroom in case she goes into labor, but she is always so anxious to get out of there. She's grooming herself more, she's always been super affectionate so no changes there, it feels like her milk might be starting to come in (only very slightly), no discharge from her lady business yet though. So yeah, she and I are reluctantly coming to terms with the fact that she's just going to be pregnant forever lol.

What a precious girl.  If her milk is coming should be within 48 hours?  Waiting is the worst!

What  a pretty kitty. She will probably have them in week or so, it is hard to tell without exactly knowing when she mated.

Make sure she does has a safe place away from the dogs, and she knows it.   With the dogs being her best friends its not so touchy, but if they arent her best friends, she wont feel calm and safe.  This complicate things for her.

Perahsp a Feliway diffuser may be a part of the solution, to get her more comfortable in the safe extra bedroom you do have?

Rub her tummy if she allows it, it helps the things u.

Some links added.

Good luck!

Observe, if an orphan is much bloated, gas-filled, bloated, have colic, simethicone (google on it) may help.  1-2 drop in the bottle.
