My baby girl, Abbey, just recently became a picky eater. She stopped eating as much and began to turn her nose up to treats. Very unlike her.

I realized she must be a picky eater when she began to tear into her cat treats and devour the bag. She would only do this with fish flavored treats. She didnt want anything to do with the chicken stuff.

So a broke down and began to buy fish flavored food (which is pretty darn hard to find with real ingredients and not by product. And i refuse to feed wet cat food.)

Abbey LOVED the new food. I transitioned her to it slowly and then she was eating normaly again. Then it happened again. She stopped eating her food.

Now what am i suppose to do now? No chicken or fish flavors? Any ideas? Thank you.

(And i havent moved her bowl anywhere new. i havent changed her eating schedule. And i havent changed anything in the house. She still acts the same and will walk over to her food bowl. She takes half a bite and then walks away.)

When cats get picky it often means they don't feel good. A checkup might be in order to see if there is something making her not want to eat.

There could be an issue with her mouth that is causing her pain, or something else could be wrong.  Could even be an issue with the food itself.  Maybe a formula change?  Is this a new bag?  It's quite unusual for a cat to start refusing the same kibble they loved in the past unless their is a formula change.  Now wet food is another story.  Mine do get tired if I don't rotate their wet food.

Why, may i ask, do you refuse to feed her canned food?
