I gave up my side of the bed when Esper was spayed. I didn't even think of asking for pain meds and didn't have any to give her and the anaesthetic wore off.

So I slept on the couch with Russell cuddled up to me.

Yeah, but if I moved to the floor, the kitties would move with me. LOL I slept on the couch a few times when I was sick with a cold since it was easier to prop myself up on the couch and so I wouldn't keep hubby awake all night coughing. Sure enough, I moved to the couch and had two kitties sleeping with me there.

What a great cartoon. My wife actually gets up and goes to the guest bed because she's so annoyed with the critters. Some of the cats follow her, but the dogs stay with me so at least she has a little room. There's nothing like trying to share a queen size bed with three dogs (110 lbs, 70 lbs, 60 lbs) and three or four cats. (The other two dogs don't like to sleep up off the floor - good thing and the cats seem to join us in shifts.)

OH yeah! I relate to that!! I slept on my couch for over a year with 3 cats sleeping on top of me so when I FINALLY got a new queen sized bed, I thought "OHH now there will be PLENTY of room for all of the cats AND me- I can sprawl all I want..." but that has not happened! I find myself sleeping all twisted or unable to move due to my cats sleeping all over ME (ignoring all the free space on the bed)!

well I'm not a rescue worker in that I don't foster in my home, my rescue work is all email/website/facilitating finding homes...but I sure can relate to the scene in that cartoon. The fellow on the floor is my dh, missing is me on one side of the bed surrounded by 3 immovable lumps - Patrick, Ophelia and Joshua, each who has their position and if one strays...well last night I woke up to a slap and hiss fight between Patrick and Joshua over who should be up by my shoulders, and who down by my feet.

My poor dh! He doesn't actually end up on the floor, but he's balancing on the edge every night <G>.

There's no place like home
I can sort of relate - usually there are more of them on bed. It was worse when I had 5 dogs (all relatively large) and 11 cats. There were times when hubby and I would get out of bed and go to the guest bedroom to sleep.

I don't care what size bed you have - they always turn into mummy-size sleeping bags when the babies are around.

I relate haha but most of the time you have to add our lab to the kitties on the bed. Hubby and I have to find a spot and stay put because throughout the night more critters end up on the bed at different times. I love not having to buy an electric blanket because we have a loving living one hehe.

Oh no, I can't relate at all.

One morning last week I woke up with 13 out of the 18 cats on the bed with me. It was nearly impossible to get up.
