We have always had cats.   Our last little love died from an embolism a couple of months ago.  It was very devastating, as she was one of the best cats I've ever had.  Every day since then I keep seeing her out of the corner of my eye.  I keep expecting her to be there, and it felt so empty.  We were all mourning her loss very deeply.

We decided to go to the no-kill shelter where we had adopted our two previous cats (one of which mentioned above) just to take a look-see.  After the third visit, we decided to adopt a brother and sister who are three years old, and the people who had them just left them out when they sold their home!
They had been at the shelter for five months.

We took them home this weekend, and they are adapting very well.  He's short-haired, she is LOOOONNNNNG haired - both very sweet and lovable.  They are both rather large cats (not fat, big, as in size).  She is a pollydactl.

So, our family room has turned back into the kitty playroom!  I posted a thread on the grooming board because we haven't had a cat with such long hair, and I noticed that she has some matting under her front legs on her chest, and on the inside of her hind quarters.  She loves being brushed, and will come close, sit nearby, but we are not yet at the "being held and loved" stage yet.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this site.

Congratulations on your new additions!  It's so nice that you could help this pair.

Good luck on getting to the "being held and loved stage", lol!

Hi and welcome. You'll have to cut the matted fur off or shave it even better.
Good luck.
