A few months ago i had to give my kittens mum Jess away cos i couldnt afford to get her fixed so i gave her to a owner of a big pet shop here (a good 2 hrs from my house btw!!!!), not to sell her but she said she'd take Jess on as her own personal pet.. well its midnight here right now and raining and nasty out and all of a sudden i hear scratching and pawing at my window and i look up and i see  JESS pawing and meowing at my window wanting to be let in!!!!!!!! I  dont know  HOW  she got here but im SO SPEECHLESS!!!!! i have no idea how long shes been out by herself but i brought her back inside and she was  STARVING!!!! Ive had to put her in the spare room cos she was hissing at my kittens (her babies..shes mean lol ). but i seriously  CANNOT BELIEVE IT! i honestly thought i was hallucinating when i looked up!!!!!!!
Ive heard about dogs travelling for miles to get home but ive never heard of cats doing it??!

Wow! Thankfully she was able to find her way back to you. I have heard of cats doing this before. Did you contact the woman who took her? She must be (hopefully) worried about her. This might be her way of telling you where she wants to live.

I would be too. She traveled a long way to get back to you and her kittens. She's so lucky she didn't get hurt or worse. I'm glad she's OK. It will be interesting to see how long it took her to get back. She's a smart kitty. Can you tell if she's been spayed since she's been with the new owner?

I can't believe the owner didn't contact you when she went missing. I think it is sign from above, you might find a low cost spay center somewhere close. Your heart has to go out to that precious girl, all the luck!!!

That is awesome. My Ghost disappeared a little over a week ago and I have hunted desperately for him. I have put up flyers with pictures and everything. I am hoping he will get away from whoever has him and comes home. I miss him desperately. I have been miserable since he's been gone.

I'm happy she found her way back to you. That is so great.

She was ravenous when i brought her in and fed her so i dont know how long shes been by herself outside but i know shes travelled a LONGGGGGG  way to get all the way back here .IM SO GLAD shes unhurt . really dont know what to do with her now ..i felt so terrible when i had to give her up but i thought i was doing the right thing when i gave her away to the pet shop lady and now i feel even worse cos shes travelled all the way back here so im assuming she was unhappy and i dont think i can afford to keep her with 4 other cats here ( my mum has one , my daughter has one and i have 2 male kittens and the other 2 are male too.) i feel like a terrible pet owner

If it's been done recently, the hair may not have grown back in fully and there could be a scar. Poor little girl must have a heck of a journey. Hopefully she ran across some nice people who fed her along the way

I  feel so incredibly bad. Jess musta been unhappy there if shes made it from there to get all the way back here to me.I really thought i was doing the right thing by giving her to someone who i thought would be able to care for her better

This is a great story. I hope you can figure a way to get her spayed and keep her. If she has not been spayed and has been loose, it is possible she might be pregnant again. Keep a close watch on her.

Are you going to contact the person you gave her to and see how long she has been missing.

Yes i will be contacting her first thing in the morning and im going to be askin her how long jess has been on the loose!!!! i really thought i was doing the right thing and the ONLY  reason i let her have jess is cos she PROMISED  she'd get her fixed cos i couldnt afford to do it and being what i deemed a responsible person would have got her fixed already. I feel so terrible thinking how unhappy Jess must have been to risk making it all the way back to me, Im bawling my eyes out and my lil doom is all over me trying to figure out whats wrong ..i feel like such a terrible pet owner

Don't do that to yourself. This is not your fault. You tried to do the right thing for her. The important thing is that Jess is OK. She's alive and unharmed. @blueyedgirl5946  brought up a really good point. She could be pregnant again depending on how long she was out for. It does sound like she was not brought to a vet to be spayed while in the woman's care. Do you have a local branch of the Humane Society? The one by me gives out vouchers for free spay/neuter and they also do that themselves at their low cost clinic. You are not a terrible pet owner. it's obvious that you were trying to find her a responsible owner. You had no control over what happened once Jess was in her care.

Yeah i have NO idea if she could be again cos i have no idea how long shes been loose :(. i DO feel like i failed my baby though. She looked so relieved to see me when i brought her inside! I have had to put her in the spare room for the night cos she keeps attacking my kittens but im so so glad she made it home safely. shes amazing! I dont think i want to give her back to this woman honestly, it doesnt sound like she really cared alot after all and id LOVE  to keep her but i dont see it being an option but i  REFUSE  to put her down, she is a beautiful loving girl and theres nothing wrong with her , so i am going to go out of my way to find her a  DECENT  home and make  SURE  shes desexed or  I WILL FIND A WAY  to do it myself so i know its done and shes ok

I am glad she made it home.  It might be easier to find a home for one of the kittens.  People always want kittens.  Much harder to find homes for an adult.
