I have opted to do my kittens FVRCP vaccines at home because of the reduced cost. Ever since I found her in the side yard of my work she has had a runny nose and eyes and sneezes probably 3-5 times an hour. When I initially took her to the vet for fleas I told her about this and she didn't seem to take any abnormal notice in it. She plays 90% of the day and is running, jumping, eating, and drinking normally. I've read that it is okay to vaccinate them if they're showing these signs as long as they appear to be healthy, but it is up to the owner.

Should I vaccinate her? What are the risks of vaccinating a cat showing signs of upper respiratory problems? She seems healthy as can be, will she be fine?

It sounds like your cat has a URI, and usually we don't vaccinate a cat when ill.  I don't know why your vet didn't suggest treatment, but if it was me i would treat the cat, but if not, I would wait until the symptoms were gone before vaccinating.

Something to keep in mind when doing vaccines at home is that if they aren't given by a licensed Vet they aren't recognized by boarding places, airlines, etc. Only if given by a licensed Vet are they considered valid. I wouldn't have her vaccinated regardless until she is well and no longer sneezing. Maybe the Vet can prescribe some clavmox or something since her eyes and nose are running.

I've asked my apartments and they have said they'll recognize home administered vaccines. I will be doing felv and rabies at a vet.

I'm so irritated because the first time I went to a vet for fleas they denied she even had fleas and the vet actually had to get his assistant to come in to examine her because he knew nothing about cats. Like how can you be a vet and know nothing about cats?
Then the second vet gave us spray for the fleas and completely ignored her sneezing and running eyes/nose and all the vets down here charge $50 for a visit on a baby kitten. I wish I could trust them to actually want to fix my cat it's so irritating!
I guess I'll have to take her back.

You might try another Vet. I wouldn't be too trusting of this one. Also another thing, I would be worried about is that if the apartment complex was to ever change managers or anything like that, they might not be too accepting of her having had vaccines at home. When Vets do it, they come with paperwork stating when it was given and when it is next due. With kittens, it is a rather high schedule of when to have it then the boosters. I might be able to find a time-table chart.

The first flea incident was one vet and the second one a completely different office. I'm starting to lose trust in vets. Thank you for your help I really appreciate it

I've found a place that will give her her shots for only $12. Only $4 more then buying them at a feed supply store. I think that's a much better option thank you all who changed my mind
