I saw the other vet in the practice today.  She was wonderful.  She feels that Sadie's symptoms are classic toxoplasmosis as she has had 5-6 cats with toxo in her years of practice.  She believes it is hiding in Sadie's central nervous system.  She said from her experience the antibiotic actually makes things worse for awhile.  The toxo parasite starts to die off and the body is trying to rid itself of the parasite yet all the while, the parasite is still alive and causing problems.

She also thinks Sadie has a pinched nerve.  So we are dealing with 2 issues.  The pinched nerve may need to be dealt with with a neurologist.  Ugh.

At the vet, Sadie could not get up.  Her reflexes were poor and she was having  a hard time swallowing.  The vet gave her another laser treatment, then she received some sub q fluids and B12 injection and lastly they gave her all her meds for me.  Just a few minutes after the laser, Sadie was up and walking around.  I could not believe it.

Once home, she was wiped out.  I let her rest for awhile and then tried to feed her.  She still wouldn't eat.  Vet told me to give her a smidge of appetite stimulant.  Within 20 minutes she was up and pacing.  Ugh.  Now dealing with the energizer bunny of all cats.  She did not want me to syringe feed her.  Instead she ate 1/4 can of wet cat food all on her own!!!!  This is amazing.

I had to put her in the cage as I just could not sit with her any longer.  She is still so wobbly and if she falls to her right only 50% of the time, can she get up.  I just need a break and some caffeine too!!  I was up with her 3x last night.  It feels like having a baby in the house.

We go back to the vet Tuesday unless there is an emergency and we will have to go to the emergency vet clinic.  The vet bills are killing me.  DH was not wanting to do anything further, but after seeing her this past week, he might be in agreement to have her at least examined by a specialist.

Thank you all of your good healing vibes.  She has proven to be a fighter.

Right now she is resting in the cage.  The sun is shining down on her and she is finally resting!!

Now I must rest too.

It sounds like you had a really constructive (although not totally positive) vet appointment.

I'm not surprised you're exhausted. It must be emotionally and physically draining keeping up with Sadie's routine, not to mention looking after everyone else too.

:hugs: and :vibes: for you all.

Poor Sadie. I'm glad to heat that's able to get some rest (and you, too!!) Poor little girl.Of course I send out lots of hugs out to both her and to you for being such an awesome, dedicated caretaker!! I also send out loads of healing vibes to that brave baby

Have you considered acupuncture for the pinched nerve? It is often used by holistic vets and is so good for so many things.

You're doing such a great job with her Shadow's Rescue. I know you must be exhausted, but I'm sure every time Sadie perks up a bit it gives you another boost too.

Big love to both of you.

We've got all our fingers and paws crossed for you here.

Things are very touch and go at the moment.  Sadie has not done well all weekend.  She did eat some yesterday morning, but nothing the rest of the day.  She never got up or even moved.  She slept all night and has only eaten bone broth today.  I would say around 1 oz.  She has tried to get up, but she just cannot.

I had another animal communication session yesterday.  It will be decided if Sadie lives or dies in the next 48 hours.  She is in a very weakened state right now.  Yet her body is trying to fight off the dying toxoplasmosis toxins in her body.  She is fighting the best she can.  She does not want to die and is doing all she can to fight.  I am to give her time and space to try and heal.  She doesn't want to be moved very much, she just wants to rest.  I will continue to offer bone broth and continue with medication.

Please hold Sadie in your thoughts.  She is in the fight of her life right now.

Oh, I am hoping Sadie will be strong enough. Do you have a heating pad you can keep with her to help keep her warm? Or you could use a large sock and fill it with rice, microwave it until warm, being sure its not too hot and give it to her. Can you get her to a Vet so they can give her subq fluids? At least keep her hydrated. Are you open to syringe feeding possibly?

Sadie has been syringe fed for the past 4 weeks.  She had had over an ounce of bone broth today so I know she is hydrated.  She had sub q fluids at the vet on Saturday.  She may go back to the vet tomorrow, but we may wait a day or two.  She is weak and working so hard to heal.  I do not want to upset her by a trip to the vet.  If needed she will be there in a heart beat, but for now she just needs to rest.

My house is plenty warm as it is in the 80's here and I do not have the AC on.  She is bolstered with two towels so she is keeping plenty warm.

Okay, I am glad to hear that she is at least drinking a little bone broth and keeping warm. Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear that Sadie is struggling again. Didn't the one vet that you really like say that she will have ups and downs for a while as her body rids itself of the toxins? I hope  the veterinarians who have been working with her will give you good advice this week. Animal communicators can be helpful, but they're not always accurate about everything, so I wouldn't take that 48 hour time frame as set in stone. I know you love Sadie and will know exactly what is best to do for her. I'm sending continued prayers for both of you!

Well, Sadie has perked up tonight.  This afternoon she got up and wanted to see her favorite feather wand.  She had much brightness in her eyes.  The Animal communicator said that by evening tonight she would have less rigidity in her front legs and get up and move about.  She ate more bone broth between 2 and 4pm.  At 4 I gave her some medicine.

Then right when I sat down to dinner I saw on the camera that she was flailing to get up.  I went up and righted her.  She got up and started walking around the room smacking her lips.  I got some canned food and also some pureed food for syringe feeding.  She lapped at the canned food all by herself.  I then fed her 1 ounce of pureed food and bone broth.  She also ate at least .5 ounce on her own.

She was walking all around the room and wanting to play with her toys.  It lasted about 25 minutes then she crashed.  I hope hope hope this is improvement and the toxins are getting out of her body.  The fact that she wanted to eat real cat food is so promising.

Please keep the good vibes coming!!!

It sounds good, definite signs of improvement. Good girl Sadie, keep going.

Maybe we could see some pictures of her soon?

So far we are off to a rough morning.  She is back in her not moving state.  Yet this is ok.  She needs to rest and she completely refueled her body last night.  Also the clindamycin makes her so darn nauseous.  I just have her a nausea pill so hopefully in an hour or so it will kick in.  I think every time she gets the antibiotic she feels so crappy.  Yet it is necessary and it is working.

We go back to the vet at 2.  I may cancel if she has not perked up.  The vet trips are so hard on her.  My vet is super flexible so it shouldn't be a problem.
