This is Felix, my recently adopted rescue cat - he was in the Lothian cat home for three months after his owners had to give him up due to moving (they were devastated).  He was overlooked all this time at the rescue because Felix has three legs, when he was in his "wanderlust" stage, he wandered a bit too far from home apparently and got caught in a snare.  His leg couldn't be saved and had to be amputated.   He gets about fine and loves to be cuddled and made a fuss of.

He looks like he was actually born with no leg there to begin with - there's no stump, it was amputated right from the shoulder I think (they did a nice job, there's no scar I can see).  I still can't understand why anyone would overlook him, he's so gorgeous and has such a lovely temperament.

I have no clue really, I don't know huge amounts about cat breeds, he's sort of medium haired but it's very flat and sleek and shiny, his belly is very fluffy and he has very bold black stripes (his back is almost black really more than any other colour although it's hard to really determine as it's all a mess of stripes and fur, lol).

He has a great temperament (he reminds me of a Ragdoll the way he flops about at my feet and rolls about waiting for belly rubs.  He just wants to cuddle and be petted all the time, and wants to be near people, so he's definitely got that classic tabby temperament that everyone talks about lol.

I have an adorable little tripod too who I rescued - Smudge. He is amazing. They are so clever.

I have had him for a year and he is thought to be about 5. I have just gotten a little 8 week old kitten for company for him and ended up reading this site as he seems to be playing what looks to be a little rough. He barrel rolls him and looks like he is chomping his tummy. Baxter - the newbie - lets out a few squeals, flings his front legs around but there don't appear to be any injuries.

Felix got his first venture into our very enclosed and safe garden (another reason I decided he'd be happy here is we had a garden perfect for him). He didn't stay out long, I think the new surroundings made him a bit nervous but he had a good scout about before coming in lol.

I don't know about lucky but he's definitely quite a happy little soul (and a trouble maker, he keeps pestering his new brother to play).

It almost breaks my heart to think of the three months he was in a lonely pen at the rescue waiting for adoption and makes me so guilty that I didn't try harder to get out there sooner than I did.  Part of me thought someone would snatch him up because he's so beautiful and his temperament was posted as being excellent but he just waited and waited, no one else seemed to want him at all :(

That being said, in the 15 days He's been with us, he's settled so much you'd think he'd just always been here.  He's come out of his shell so much and so very quickly, his personality is really shining through and he has found so much confidence despite he hardly knew us from day one.

He also doesn't seem to really know he's disabled, lol, he runs like a bolt of fuzzy brown lightning through the house and can't half do some weird acrobatics when he's playing.  He's very healthy and active more than I thought a three legged cat might be. He impresses me every day (and makes me laugh).  Both my cats make me laugh every day, it's the best thing about cats, they're stupidly funny without meaning to be.
