Tell me about your cat's bonds with other species. I have a multi-species house with 4 cats and 3 dogs. Who are your cat's friends?

My dog Moonpie helped me raise my Siamese cat (Baby, aka Snowball). Snowball was the only survivor after her mother was hit by a car. At the time I was bottle feeding two kittens from another litter and took her in with them. Moonpie immediately became attached and very protective of Snowball. Moonpie would come and wake me up if I slept through the 4 hour alarms so that her kitten would get fed.  4 years later they still spend nap time together.

Just gorgeous :heart3:

I have cats and dogs too, but they're nowhere near as close as your two. My old lab had phantom pregnancies, and our cats at the time became her puppy substitutes. They were very good about it - even when she tried to wash them and each lick would send them skidding halfway across the room!

The semi feral I care for became very attached to my exmoor pony. They shared a stable, sometimes sleeping head to head. Pushkin would sit on the stable door and groom Collie's face too - very sweet. Sadly, we moved to a different stable on the yard and had to break them up, but Pushkin still comes round to see how Collie's doing.

Our current cats and dogs aren't terribly close. Shadow (bsh) just ignores the dogs - apart from when he sits on the arm of the sofa and pounces their wagging tails. Asha (rescue burmese mix) went through a phase of going out of her way to beat up the dogs. The dogs never retaliated, they just kept away when they could. Now they're equally scared of each other :lol3: It's so funny to see these two big dogs (labrador and greyhound) refusing to enter a room because Asha's in there. I'm sure they'll sort themselves out eventually - Asha only arrived in March.
